In November 2012, the house was taken over by the diocese of Osnabrück, which continues this tradition. The house is located directly opposite the Catholic Church Maria Meeresstern - central and at the same time quiet on Borkum's oldest street. Shops and restaurants are just a few steps away. After you have been taken from the Borkum harbor by the island train to the train station, you are after approx. 300 meters already at the house of St. Joseph. To the beach you walk about 600 meters. Bakeries and shops can be reached in two minutes. All apartments in this house are simple, bright and functional. The living room of this apartment includes a dining area, there is a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, stove with oven. One double bedroom (200 x 200) with open bed end and an extra bed. The second room has a single bed and a closet bed. A bathroom with a walk-in shower and toilet and a guest toilet. This apartment is handicapped-friendly because there are no thresholds. To cope with the step at the entrance to the house, we have a ramp that we are happy to provide. Of course, amenities such as TV, radio and Wi-Fi are offered. This house has a special feature: a meditation room, our "room of silence" for personal contemplation or simply to unwind, for yoga or mindfulness exercises and a common room with a wide selection of games and books, for social gatherings or thematic group work. A large garden with a terrace also invites you to sunbathe or barbecue. For children we have a large swing and plenty of space to play.
