It will look vastly different in the upcoming year, as entirely new buildings will soon be constructed, and lots of new businesses will be opening in newly renovated buildings nearby. Oakland is the second largest city in the San Francisco BAY AREA, and the eighth-largest city in California. With any major populated city there will be some trash, graffiti, and homeless people. Some guests may consider that terrible or undesirable. Please understand that those are things we cannot control. This is just how life is like in a big city. Rest assured with the police station across the street, this is as safe a place in Oakland as you can find. Please rate us fairly on accuracy of pictures, description of space and cleanliness of room and building, and not unfairly just on location as we have no control over that. BART train and bus are nearby, with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and bars located within walking distance or use our Uber/Lyft promo code that is posted in the room! Easy to find freeway access to San Francisco. 12th street BART station is about 5 blocks away from the building. Lake Merritt BART station is about 7 blocks away. Barting to San Francisco will be about 15-20+ mins away. There is a ferry boat that can take you across the bay from Jack London Square to S.F. Embarcadero. Berkeley, Alameda, and Emeryville are all simple to travel to, as they are bordering cities to Oakland. Local tip: If planning to sight-see only in San Francisco, traveling by BART or Uber/Lyft is recommended, as it may be cheaper and more convenient than driving. San Francisco, especially around tourist attractions and downtown, is known for bad traffic and difficult to find, confusing and costly metered parking.
