Surrounded by 30 acres of lush green countryside The Farmhouse has been lovingly restored and renovated from the original single storey thatch cottage built in 1800's. This quirky property combines old features and modern touches and is furnished to a high standard. Add a horse riding experience or enjoy a walk in the beautiful Faughan Valley. With Derry City only 4 miles away and The Wild Atlantic Way and North Antrim Coast within an hour's drive what is not to love about this place! The space As you drive down the private lane past the Stables and Farmyard you will see The Farmhouse in the distance. Enter through the front door into the porch which leads into the living room with its working open fire. Here the quirky features of the old cottage are apparent. This is the original floor level with low windows and deep window sills due to the thickness of the old stone walls. The low set windows let in plenty of natural light and the antique furniture mixed with the modern touches adds to the ambiance. Relax in the 3 seater sofa or one of the armchairs in front of the fire. It is 2 steps up to the kitchen. This well equipped kitchen dining area has a kitchen table that can comfortably sit up to 6 people as well as a washing machine, dishwasher, larder fridge, double oven and microwave. Just off the kitchen is a wet room with electric shower. The backdoor leads out to the car parking area and back patio. Take the 2 steps down from the kitchen into the living room and up the stairs. The left-hand side of the stairs leads to a bright spacious double bedroom with modern oak furniture and fantastic views of the garden. Beside it you will find a single bedroom with bunkbeds and a built in wardrobe. Off the righthand staircase is another double bedroom with antique wardrobe and dressing table. This spacious bedroom with low windows encompasses the old character of the Farmhouse. Beside this spacious double bedroom is a bright family bathroom with shower and bath. The Farmhouse is cosy with underfloor heating down stairs and central heating upstairs. The front door leads out onto the garden with mature trees. Take the gate onto the old cart track. This was the original road in the 1800's and walk along it to experience the beautiful countryside and wildlife that is on your doorstep. Guest access You will have access to gardens and patio area at back as well as the laneways. There is a private fenced area around the 1 bedroom apartment. As we are a working farm you will only have access to the stables with the permission of a member of staff. With regards to the fields we have livestock in different fields at different times of the year so prior permission must be sought from Pauline to ensure your safety. Other things to note Situated 2 miles from the nearest shop and only 4 miles from the vibrant city of Derry where there are many local pubs and excellent restaurants.
