SNOW SWEET, A Yurt for All Seasons

Snow Sweet at The Appleton Retreat is very private, check out the Trail Map. This contemporary yurt faces the Field of Dreams and has a nice view of Appleton Ridge. It features a private therapeutic hot tub on the deck, a fire pit, and fast wifi. The Appleton Retreat encompasses 120 acres hosting six unique retreats. To the south is the Pettengill Stream, a resource protected area. To the north is the Nature Conservancy's 1300 acre reserve. The space Snow Sweet is a contemporary living space with fine amenities, not to mention fine artwork and radiant heat in the upscale bathroom. Enjoy cooking in the well stocked kitchen or grilling on the deck. A beautiful gas fireplace provides heat to assure a perfect getaway all year long. A heat pump provides backup heat as well as air conditioning for those few summer days in Maine where it is a blessing to have. A screened in porch and large deck is great for time relaxing, enjoying the view..... in the hot tub..... stargazing. So many options! Perhaps a fire in the firepit after dining out at one of the Midcoast fine restaurants..... or Foda, just down the road. Snow Sweet is a custom 20' Smiling Woods wooden yurt with an addition that includes a foyer, bathroom and screened in porch. (Silver Moon is a sister to it. Summer Rose has a more spacious 25' interior but does not have an addition.) Guest access The trails on the 120 acres at The Appleton Retreat as well as the trail on the 1300 acres on the abutting Nature Conservancy are available to Guests for hiking and cross country skiing. We do not permit snowmobiles or all terrain vehicles at The Appleton Retreat. There is a private sauna and wood fired cedar hot tub that may be reserved, at an additional charge, on the day of arrival. There are two kayaks for Guest use at the Pettengill Stream. Other things to note The Appleton Retreat welcomes guests dogs that are well behaved and play well with others off leash. There is an additional charge of $50 payable directly to The Appleton Retreat prior to departure. (Dogs must weigh less than 50 lbs. Sorry - no Pitbulls or any other potentially aggressive dogs.)
