Steeped in history you won’t want to leave this hidden gem. Out the front door are walks for miles and a visit to the Giant is a must! Then either cook up a storm in the well equipped kitchen , enjoy the garden with Big Green Egg bbq or wander down to the choice of three local pubs. The Sea is just a short 30 mins drive. Parking free opposite The space After arriving in the prettiest street in Cerne Abbas welcome to Pilgrims cottage . As you come through the front door you enter a porch with plenty of space for coats and shoes. There is a tote bag to use for shopping at the wonderfully stocked village store and even one for carrying your fish & chips if you’re lucky enough to stay when the chippy van visits. Then you enter the lounge with its wonderfully old fireplace housing a log burner for those cosy nights in. A stunning array of beams fill the space with Plenty of sumptuous seating for four and a trunk coffee table hiding plenty of games. Enjoy flicking through the local books with plenty of ideas where to visit in Dorset and enjoy the original artwork dotted around. Next is the exceptionally well equipped kitchen ( think le creuset, Robert Welsh, Neptune crockery) ready for you to prepare anything from a quick breakfast to an extravagant feast . It hosts a large Range Master in a striking red and a farmhouse table, perfect for dining at. It also has a dishwasher so no washing up needed. Upstairs on the landing is a gallery shelf with interesting objects to peruse and more ancient beams keeping the secrets of the cottage, you will find a newly fitted bathroom with a good shower and roll top bath to unwind in. It even has its own wine shelf! The bedrooms are both good sizes, one with a superking bed and one bed a king size. Both have wonderful views of the local church. Luxury bedding should guarantee to give you a good nights sleep. Both rooms have dressing tables which can be used as desk if needed. Wardrobes, chest of drawers and Hairdryers are in both. Outside you will find the utility store, housing the washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron. The lower terrace has a round table perfect for morning coffee . The top garden is reached by steps and is home to the Big Green Egg BBQ and a large dining table. Or relax in the sun loungers and enjoy the garden as it is a wonderful sun trap full of roses. So peaceful it’s hard not to nod off but super easy to relax! Guest access Enjoy the whole cottage and gardens Other things to note Sorry due to family allergies NO PETS ALLOWED The work space is in each bedroom which both have a desk/ dressing table The second bedroom has a wall mounted electric heater is there if needed. We also provide a dyson heater to top up the heat around the cottage but so far have never needed this. PARKING - parking is free and unrestricted throughout the whole village and we have always found a spot right opposite the cottage in front of the church. ELECTRIC CHARGING available in the village car park about 4 minutes walk away.
