During your stay, you'll have exclusive access to the entire main level of the cabin, and the outdoor space. Rest assured, there will be no other guests staying on-site, offering you complete privacy and the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area. Two days prior to your check in you will receive a detailed message with our address, wifi and access code to our Yale touch locks. Other things to note We’ve gathered answers to common guest questions to make your stay smoother: 🌆 Passing through Calgary? If you’re traveling to or from the cabin and need a place to stay in Calgary, we also host a couple of Airbnbs there close to downtown. Feel free to ask us! ❄️ Cooling the Cabin: We purchased an AC unit for the living room which is in the cabin from approximately June 1st to October 15th. The master bedroom and living room have ceiling fans, and there are stand-up fans in the bedrooms. 🐻 Wildlife Safety: Please don’t leave food outdoors. Clean the BBQ thoroughly after each use (brush provided) to avoid attracting bears or other wildlife. 🔥 Fires: Outdoor: Fire bans are common in summer. We’ll notify you if a ban is in place. Having a fire during a ban will result in a fine (per house rules). Indoor: The wood stove is for heating on cool days only (it makes the cabin very warm in summer). We send a link to view a video two days before check in. Please burn only dry wood that we provide, no other items. Fire extinguishers are in the mudroom and under the kitchen sink. 💧 Drinking Water: Our well water is filtered and safe to drink. The kitchen tap and fridge have added filtration and ozone treatment for fresh, clean water. 🚽 Septic System: Only flush toilet paper, nothing else to prevent backups. 🌲 Outside Factors: We can’t control things like wildfire smoke, snowy road closures, or power/wifi outages due to mountain weather. Our cancellation policy still applies in these cases, so we recommend trip insurance for extra peace of mind. ☀️ Windows & Light: The main living/kitchen area has large, uncovered windows for natural light and mountain views. Bedrooms have blackout blinds, but if someone is using the sofa bed, they may want an eye mask for early sunshine. ⛈️ Weather Conditions: Occasionally, mountain weather can knock out wifi or power. This is rare, but if it happens, thank you for your patience while it’s resolved. In the winter it is a requirement to have winter tires for the highway driving. 🍖 BBQ: A BBQ is available for guest use on the upper deck. We start the season with a full propane tank and a spare, but we don’t guarantee propane. Please check levels before cooking. We keep a fire blanket with the BBQ. 🪵 Deck: In winter, the deck and patio furniture may be snow-covered and unavailable. 🚗 Getting Here: Access is via a 5 km dirt road, maintained year-round. Our driveway is plowed in winter, but 4x4 or winter tires are strongly recommended in BC and Alberta during snowy months.
