The home has everything a traveling group or family will need to feel completely at home, while still being tucked perfectly away in the heart of Southern West Virginia. The house itself has 2 bedrooms (1 Queen - 1 Full), living room, eat-in kitchen, full bathroom and laundry room. We love our four-legged friends too, and welcome well-behaved pets. For your safety and the protection of our property, we use Ring exterior surveillance to monitor the home 24 hours/day. Guests have access to the entire home and yard. Residents of Lester mostly know each other, which creates a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere. Occasionally referred to as the “railroad house” due to it’s classic stone and brick exterior and close proximity to the railroad tracks, this home is certain to evoke memories of the era when railroading was synonymous with high adventure. Lester is located in the Hatfield-McCoy Region of Southern West Virginia near the New River Gorge Region. Southern WV is proud to be the home of the largest continuous ATV trail system in the United States. Burning Rock Outdoor Adventure Park is just 10 minutes from the house and is situated on 10,000 acres with 100’s of miles of trails not only great for the ATV lovers , but offering great options for Jeep enthusiasts. Lester is an ATV friendly town, our neighbors frequently ride around in their side-by-sides or ATVs. We have a passion for motor sports and mountains. If you’re a light sleeper, this home may not be for you. This home is situated close to the main road and railroad tracks through the small town of Lester as depicted in the photos, so the potential for noise should be expected. This old home is constructed of stone and brick, and is very well insulated. We recently added central air conditioning to this home allowing you to keep the windows closed, which blocks out most of the outside noise. We have also added sound machines to the bedrooms to further make the road noise virtually unnoticeable during the night. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns, and we will respond as soon as possible to your request. We require our guests to be respectful of the neighborhood, to include no loud outdoor noise past 10pm, no vandalizations of our or the neighbors properties, and ask you to dispose of trash appropriately on trash pickup day so we don’t end up with piles of trash bags littering the property. We allow up to 4 vehicles (including utility trailers) to be parked on the property/driveway per reservation. The interior of the home is NOT 420-friendly. Please be aware we do not allow smoking of any kind inside the home. The lingering evidence of cigarette and/or marijuana use will result in fines. Reservation holder must be at least 25 years of age, and present in the home during the reservation. Booking on behalf of someone else is prohibited. Due to liability purposes and the protection of our home and paying guests, we do not allow unregistered visitors. If guests would like to have additional family members or friends inside the home, please reach out and we will try our best to accommodate. Tampering with the exterior surveillance may result in immediate eviction from the property without refund. We love our fur babies and know what it’s like traveling with them. That’s why we have decided to become pet friendly. We love that you can travel with your babies too, just please be respectful of our home. We have guests that also stay who do not have pets, so please keep the home clean and free from pet deposits. Pets must be house trained, and/or kenneled when left alone in the home. Pet fee is $25 per pet. For families traveling with multiple animals (max 2) or an extended length of stay, we may negotiate a flat fee for your pet(s) that is budget-friendly. Make sure you ask during your booking inquiry for multi-pet or weeklong rates. Please respect the rules below for your fur babies: -Never leave pets unattended to roam freely- pets must be kenneled when left alone if not house trained, and carpeted areas of the home must be closed off to any pets at all times. -Pets must be on leash at all times when outdoors. - Guest agree to clean all deposits (poop) in yard left by pets ($50 fee per pile of poo if guest do not follow this simple requirement). -Pets must not climb on furniture or beds. -There is a penalty fee of $100 on top of the normal pet fee to any guest who tries to sneak any pets in without giving us notice. What to bring -Napkins, garbage bags, coffee filters (some coffee and filters provided). -Bring paper plates and cups if looking for convenience. (Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes) -Bring extra paper products if you will need extra, there is some provided: toilet paper, paper towels. -Bring extra bath towels. One set of towels (wash cloth, hand towel, and bath towel) will be provided for each guest. -Bring laundry detergent.
