The space An independent, spacious, and comfortable house nestled in the heart of the Lot, on the edge of a forest. The place is simple and beautiful, with no ostentation: a large swimming pool lined with cypress trees, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a vast open-plan living room, and a fully equipped kitchen. The house can accommodate up to 10 guests, though it is ideally suited for 6 to 8—everyone has space. The materials are raw and warm, the decor understated, the volumes generous. Thick walls and the surrounding trees keep the house naturally cool in summer—there is no air conditioning, by choice. But the architecture and wooded environment provide real freshness. This is a place designed for quiet stays: families, friends, people who enjoy cooking, reading, swimming, walking. Long summer meals on the terrace, sunbathing by the pool, naps in the shade, and the surrounding silence. Close by, many small villages, local markets, and producers make it easy to shop for fresh goods without driving far. We do not rent the house for events or weddings. No parties or loud gatherings—the respect of the place is part of the experience. Guest access You will be welcomed in person — there is no key box or self check-in system. Someone will always be there to greet you, show you around the house, and answer any initial questions. The welcome is handled either by Violette, the owner of the house, or Philippe, who takes care of the property. Check-in times will be arranged together in advance, ideally during the day or early evening. We kindly ask to avoid very late arrivals, out of respect for those who receive you. Other things to note 🌲 🐿️ The house is located on the edge of a forest. You may occasionally spot (or hear) small wild animals typical of the region, such as dormice or squirrels. They are harmless, and we do everything we can to prevent them from coming inside. But if you're looking for a fully sealed, sterile space, this might not be the right place 🙂 Here, we live with nature — and that’s exactly what makes the house so special. The house is at the end of a long private path, with no immediate neighbours — just a few farms scattered in the surrounding countryside. It’s a peaceful, secluded place with no overlooking views. The nearest hamlet, L’Hôpital Saint-Jean, is reachable by bike. This is not a hotel, but a private, carefully maintained retreat where everything has been thoughtfully arranged for guest comfort. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, several working fireplaces make it cosy outside the summer season, and the pool is deep and very well maintained. From the house, you can head straight out for a walk in the woods — boots in various sizes are available for guests. The surrounding area offers farmers’ markets, local producers, picturesque villages, and beautiful landscapes to explore in every season.
