Built in 1900, it's been meticulously maintained and is filled with a wonderful collection of artwork and antiques. The unit features two bedrooms, a recently updated bathroom, front and back porches, and shared use of the patio and garden. The location can't be beat: Two blocks from Main Street; walking distance from both Bloomsburg University and the town park along the Susquehanna River. This house has been in our family for more than 50 years, and we want it to be your home away from home. It offers the perfect combination of historic charm and modern convenience. You'll find original details throughout, including beautiful hardwood floors and 10-foot ceilings. The living room — featuring a 55" Roku TV — feels like a museum, with an eclectic assortment of paintings covering the walls. The bold blue bedroom with king bed is massive, with a sitting area, full-sized desk, wood venetian blinds, and a closet that runs the entire width of the room. The romantic red bedroom with queen bed features bay windows and a built-in dresser. The dining room is the perfect hang-out space — full of light (and relics from Bloomsburg's storied past). The retro galley kitchen comes with all the essentials you might need, plus a K-cup machine, dishwasher, microwave, and a classic stove that shows they don't make them like they used to. In the recently redone bathroom almost everything is new: the floor, the pedestal sink, the toilet, the lighting, the fixtures. On the expansive front porch you'll find a collection of rocking chairs, perfect for enjoying a beverage and watching people (and sometimes parades) go by. In the back of the house, your private porch features a swing and views of the bluestone patio and perennial garden. The house is right in the heart of the action, not far from the town square and fountain, and a short walk from popular bars, restaurants, cafes, the Bloomsburg Fair, the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble, the Bloomsburg Public Library, the Bloomsburg Children's Museum, and so much more. You have private access to the entire first floor of the home, including the back porch and your half of the front porch (which includes the seating areas seen in the pictures). You share the patio and backyard with our long-term tenants who live upstairs. Both units of the house have separate private entrances in the front and back of the house. There are no shared spaces inside the house. We'll be readily available to answer your questions and offer guidance via the AirBnB app. There is typically plenty of free street parking in front of the house. If there is no street parking available, one private off-street parking spot is available behind the house. Note to tall people: The bathroom is "cozy." If you are taller than 6-foot-3, some slouching will be required.
