Bright sunny room in modern Victorian terraced house with garden on quiet street in Sydenham (SE26 - Zone 3). Peaceful space with work desk perfect for solo adventurers or business travellers visiting London. My place is in Southeast London, close to Sydenham station and Overground for frequent fast transport to Central London. Easy access to London Bridge, Shoreditch, Dalston, Canary Wharf, Brixton, Victoria (30 min). Crystal Palace, Dulwich, Peckham are short bus/bike ride away. The space You will be staying in a proper local neighbourhood instead of Central London, which gives you the opportunity to experience London life like a local not from the usual perspective of a tourist. Very easy access from Gatwick airport, and a great location if you need to be South side of the city. The area around Sydenham, Crystal Palace and Forest Hill is a quiet, green neighbourhood with many independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars around. ----------------------------- The house is 10 min walk from Sydenham station (zone 3) where the Overground runs to Canada Water (15 min), Shoreditch and Dalston Junction (25 min) and regular trains to London Bridge (20 min). Lower Sydenham station (zone 4) is a 15 min walk away and has trains to Charing Cross (25 min). Penge East station (zone 4) is a 10 min bus ride away and has frequent trains to Brixton and Victoria (15-20 min). --------------------------- ROOM: The room comes furnished with a small double bed (120cm wide - ideally sleeps 1, but can cosily sleep a couple), wardrobe, drawers and work desk with office swivel chair. There is a small decorative fireplace and the double glazed window is overlooking the quiet back garden. HOUSE: The house is bright, cosy, freshly decorated, with a sunny garden and a shed for bikes. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, large open-plan living/dining room space with working fireplace, and a modern bathroom with walk-in shower and freestanding bathtub. The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, cooker/oven, microwave, espresso machine, blender, kettle, toaster and washing machine. Other amenities: Wireless broadband, TV, and a cute garden for BBQ or morning coffee. Free unrestricted parking in front of the house. No smoking in the house, but possible outside in garden. Guest access Living room, dining area, bathroom, kitchen, garden. During your stay I live in the property and you would be sharing with me and two pets - my cat Elmo and dog Frida. I'm originally from Germany and have lived in London for over a decade. I know the city really well, so can be at hand to provide you with some suggestions for your stay on transport, places to eat out, sights, markets, shopping, nightlife etc. And also give you some ideas for exploring the off-the-beaten track places and lesser known neighbourhoods in London. I speak English, German and French. Other things to note The living spaces are shared with two resident pets - I have a dog called Frida, who is a whippet poodle cross, and an elderly cat called Elmo. Access: There is only wheelchair access to the ground floor of the property (hall and living room, 1 step down to kitchen). The room for rent and the bathroom are up a flight of stairs.
