Caballo de Mar is a 2 BR, 2 bath house with fenced patio & yard. Dog-friendly! One block from the gorgeous Lenguita Arenosa beach with 5 mi. of smooth sand (near La Bufadora, 40 minutes S. of Ensenada). The area features small rustic towns with shops & restaurants. The house has 2 queen beds, big living area w/ big windows, 2 full bath, laundry, & renovated kitchen with gas stovetop, toaster oven, & microwave, (no oven). On the patio, a grill & table for al fresco dining. Bright & comfortable. This house is located just off Boulevard Todos Santos (the main beach road) on a private residential street. The entrance to Lengueta Arenosa beach is at the end of your street. The open concept living and dining area of the house has a comfy couch that is about 6 ft long. There is also a queen futon couch in the living room. There is a smart TV with a Netflix account for you to use. There is a mini-split installed in the living area. This is a heater in the winter and AC in the summer. Please note that it may not be sufficient to heat and cool the bedrooms, so there are supplemental space heaters for the bedrooms in winter, and fans for the summer. The Dining area has a table for 4 and two small bar stools for additional seating. The kitchen is stocked with 2.5 gallon bottles of purified water for drinking and cooking in the water dispenser, flatware, dinnerware, and cookware. You also have a coffee maker, full-sized refrigerator, and basic spices and condiments for cooking. Please note there is a gas stovetop, microwave, and toaster oven for cooking (NO OVEN.) The two bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed and desk in the master bedroom, and a queen-sized bed in the second bedroom. All essentials are provided, such as bed sheets, towels, soaps...etc. You also have closets to put away your belongings during your stay. The bathrooms have showers. Baja California is a desert and water is scarce. Also we use a private water tank (pila) and have a septic system. This area is built on a sandbar, and water must be conserved so as not to overwhelm the septic system. We ask guests not to use the bathtub and keep showers short. There is an older washer and dryer, but we also ask that you only do laundry if absolutely necessary or for stays longer than 3 days. There is a fenced patio where you can hang out and grill food when the weather is nice. If you bring your pets, please do not let them on the furniture, and pick up their droppings outside. Many people here let their dogs run free on the beach, and you can too, as long as they are friendly. FIREWORKS ARE PROHIBITED. Some people ignore this rule, but you should not. Vehicles of any kind are also prohibited on the beach. This beach is perfect for swimming, biking, kayaking, riding horses, and more. We provide beach chairs, beach towels, and umbrella for your use. There are natural hot springs nearby on the beach where you can dig your own hot tub in the sand at low tide (bring your own shovel and bucket). At the far end of the spit is a natural protected area and bird sanctuary with hiking trails. La Bufadora (one of the world's largest blowholes) is about 20 minutes away with the boardwalk shops and restaurants. Las Canadas is 40 minutes, which has pools, hiking trails and a zipline. San Carlos hot springs with hot and cold pools is a 45 minute drive. Downtown Enseanda is about a 1 hour drive, with world class restaurants and shopping. Calibrate Your Lenguita Arenosa Beach Expectations .... This beach is in a rural area. That is what makes it beautiful and peaceful, but please understand this means we don't have all the advantages of a city when it comes to utilities. In all the residences here, water for washing is delivered in trucks that fill private cisterns (called "pilas") for each house. We provide filtered water for drinking and cooking. Gas for water heater and stove is from canisters. When they run out, we call the gas company. Usually they will be able to refill the tanks the same day (Sundays are iffy). The salt and mineral content of the water is high, so things corrode easily and occasionally stop working at inconvenient times. The only public utility in this area is the electricity, and even this frequently goes out during rainstorms and sometimes for reasons only God knows. All of this is part of the Baja experience (outside of the cities). This is also an older house. We do our best to maintain the house and fix every problem as soon as humanly possible, but we are not mind readers. If something is not working, please let us know IMMEDIATELY, even if you prefer that we not come in to fix it during your stay. We are available by phone or text from 7 am- 7pm every day. Baja has its own magical vibe that you won't find anywhere else, and this beach in particular is stunning. But patience and flexibility are big assets here. Think of it as being on island time... take a deep breath of ocean air, and sink into peace. You have one private parking space. If you need more space for additional vehicles let us know and we will try to accommodate you. Please don’t park in the street in front of the house at any time, it’s too narrow and will block access for the neighbors. If you have any problems or questions during your stay please contact me any my cohost through the app. My phone number is also posted on the refrigerator as well as the number of my assistant who lives down the street from the house. Communication is the key to a good experience for everyone! This is a small, private neighborhood with a gate. The house is near the main beach road and one block from the beach. The area can be very busy in the summer especially on weekends but is quiet in the off season and week days. This is a rural beach area with several two towns nearby, including Cantu (Ejido Coronel Esteban Cantu), and La Bufadora. The house is about .25-2 miles from the nearest small stores, and 1-2 miles from the nearest restaurants. The nearest grocery store is in Maneadero, about a 20 minute drive. You have a dedicated parking space. Getting around is easiest by car since this is a rural area. Please text us after you check in to let us know if all is well.
