Welcome to our guesthouse, a 100-year-old Kyoto machiya (townhouse). Located in Shimabara, a historic district just one stop from Kyoto Station, we offer a peaceful escape from busy tourist areas. Once a hanamachi (flower district) like Gion is today, this area retains a relaxed atmosphere with local shops and cafes. Our guesthouse features air conditioned rooms, free WiFi and common areas to work or relax. There is also a shared kitchen, bathrooms, showers and laundry service. Please be considerate of other guests as lights are out from 11:00pm to 7:00am. Traditional Machiya—Sound Carries As our building is a traditional Kyoto townhouse, soundproofing is limited. Please be considerate of other guests, particularly in the early morning and late at night. No Smoking Indoors Smoking inside the building is strictly prohibited. Please use the designated smoking area outside. Children Under 12 Please note that we may not be able to accommodate children under 12 due to the traditional nature of the building. If you are traveling with children, please contact us in advance. Damage & Repair Costs Guests will be responsible for any damages caused during their stay. In the event of damage, repair costs may be charged accordingly.
