Unique Country Farmhouse with Beautiful Courtyard

Escape from the city life and come stay at our farmhouse. This unique rental is situated on 5 acres down a dirt lane and it is only a couple minutes from the Outer Banks corridor (Highway 168) in NC right across the VA line. It is such a beautiful home and boasts a fun and relaxing courtyard to enjoy all day and night. The space This unique farmhouse has a lot of charm and is decorated in beautiful colors to warm your heart to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. The open concept layout has a large kitchen, family room and sunroom/dining room. From the time you walk in the front door the cathedral ceiling and large sunroom catches your eye and brings you to the beautiful outside courtyard. The home has 2 bedrooms: Bedroom one has a queen bed, twin daybed with a trundle. Bedroom two has a full bed, twin daybed with trundle. So the bedrooms will sleep 8 but it is a tad tight. This home has one full bathroom and another half bathroom in bedroom number two. There is also a washer and dryer in this rental. On the outside of the rental there is a beautiful side yard and courtyard. We incorporated some whimsical colorful art so you will see some pretty cool things out there. For the kids, we have a paper scavenger hunt to find all the "critters” throughout the gardens and a fairy garden under the large oak tree for the kids to enjoy. For the adults the courtyard has a grilling area with a propane gas grill, picnic table, wood fire pit, chairs around the firepit, covered carport/dining area with another large dining area and outdoor bar. The café lights in this area really enhances it at night. It is absolutely beautiful out there under the stars. This rental has a lot to offer in the country and is close to several points of interest. If you have a boat, there are several boat ramps for you to enjoy within a mile or two away to the Tulls Bay, Northwest River or the Currituck Sound. This rental is a 30 mile drive to the Outer Banks (OBX) bridge. There are several restaurants, shops and a grocery store within 4-8 miles. There are several parks and other attractions within short driving distances. Guest access You will have access to the house, courtyard and covered dining area but not the barn in the backyard. Note: this property has a barn in the backyard so we may be visiting the barn or using the tractor in the back acres during your stay but you will hardly know we are there. Other things to note Note… this house will sleep 8 people because each bedroom has a full bed, twin daybed with a trundle. Keep in mind the rooms are smaller in size so there won’t be a lot of extra floor space once the trundles are pulled out. So sleeping 8 is tight, 6 people will be more comfortable. This property is located down a dirt road so even though we maintain it regularly there may be some puddles you may have to navigate around or through after a heavy rain. NOTE: We provide a small "starter pack" of coffee filters, paper products, toiletries and trash bags etc. We do not have an ice maker so you can use the ice trays provided or purchase bagged ice. This house is surrounded by farmland and woods therefore we may have insects and wildlife on the property. While we take precautions like regular pest control, it is common to see insects like ants, mosquitoes, spiders, ticks, chiggers, carpenter bees, water bugs, palmetto bugs, yellow jackets, no see bugs, etc which are prevalent in this area depending on the season. We also have rare sightings of wildlife like deer, raccoons, squirrels, opossum, wild turkey, field mice, lizards, frogs, snakes etc. While they will usually come and go we just ask that you be aware of your surroundings. We really want you to be comfortable so if you are not a fan of the country rural setting this home may not be the best option for you.
