NewVida Mansion is on a former ski mountain and now part of the largest year-round resort in the Adirondacks at 2000 acres & the closest full service resort to Whiteface. Guests reserve the mansion exclusively but have full access to the amenities at the mountain base, including a lodge, restaurant, craft bar with live music, billiards lounge, bistro, gym, wellness center with yoga + massage, AND 35+ miles of well-established trails for hiking, biking, climbing and private alpine touring. The house is up a beautiful winding 3/4 of a mile drive up the mountain from the base lodge. It consist of 12,000 sq feet across 4 floors, all accessible via en elevator. There are a total of 4 full baths, 3 half baths and 7 bedrooms, all with queen or king beds, high quality mattresses & linens and a sofa bed, accommodating 16+ guests. On the first floor, there is a large foyer, mud room, guest apartment suite (with it's own kitche, living room & bathroom), a large laundry room, 2 half baths, a family room with fireplace, 2 dining areas (1 casual, 1 formal), a large gourmet kitchen with 2 islands, a breakfast nook and a great room with an additional fireplace. Off of the kitchen there is a covered porch, barbecue, outdoor dining table, adirondack chairs and fenced in yard. Off of the great room, there is a side yard with picnic tables and incredible mountain views. On the second floor, there is a double height family room with kitchenette, 4 bedrooms (1 king, 3 queen), 1 playroom, 1 sitting room and 2 full bathrooms, one with a steam shower and the other with a rain shower and bath tub. Off of one of the bedrooms is a large deck. On the third floor, there are 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, and additional walk-in closet/storage space. On the fourth floor, there is a bedroom with a half bath and a sofa bed. Off of this bedroom is a deck with stunning 360-degree views. The architecture, wood work and stone work have been featured in numerous publications. The house has both central air & heat and radiant floor heating. There is wifi throughout but the strongest signal on the lower 2 floors. The gourmet kitchen comes fully equipped with a commercial hood & range, 2 ovens, 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers, 3 refrigerators, 2 freezers, 1 popcorn machine, and both espresso and coffee machines. Around the house is a beautiful natural stone walk-way that affords views of all the peaks. The house is extremely private, yet has direct access to the former ski runs and the 35+ miles of trails part of the broader preserve. Down the private drive to the base lodge, guests have access to the charming bistro with an incredible coffee bar & breakfast + lunch menu, an evening craft cocktail bar, local live music & billiards lounge, an incredible restaurant, and a modern gym & wellness center with daily classes & massage appointments. Guests have free access to the gym and 35+ miles of private trails, but meals, drinks, and wellness experiences are priced individually and not included in the reservation. We also border a 500- acre state mountain biking preserve and the broader Adirondack Park System at 6+ million acres (largest park system in the lower 48 states), allowing for excursions right from the property. The entire house is private for guests. Preserve staff is available at the main lodge for guests when needed during working hours. This is truly a 4-season escape situated adjacent to the 6.5 million acres of state preserved land that constitute the Adirondacks Park. In the wintertime, it's only 6 minutes to Olympic grade skiing at Whiteface and near snowmobiling, dog-sledding and cross-country skiing trails. In the Spring, explore fly-fishing at the world-class Ausable River that runs near the property or venture out for white-water rafting. In the summer and fall, hike on trails up the high peaks to enjoy the incredible views, waterfalls, rivers and wading pools, ride on the nearby 400 acres of mountain biking trails, go boating, kayaking and swimming in Lake Placid, Saranac or Mirror Lakes, explore the farmers markets, theatre and festivals at quaint towns like Keene or enjoy the vibrant restaurants, shops and bars in Lake Placid. It's best to use a 4-wheel drive vehicle to explore the property and broader area. A 4WD vehicle is required to reserve the house during winter months. Any 2WD vehicles can remain in the parking lot of the main lodge at the base of the mountain.
