Simple overwater tinyhouse with terrace.
Simple overwater tinyhouse with terrace.
Description
Simple, small and basic, 23 m2. Enjoy nature in this tiny cabin on stilts in the fjord. In nice weather you lie in bed with the door open, lit candles on the terrace and look out on the water. Maybe a duck family swim by, a salmon jump or a train passes on the other side of the fjord. In rain you hear the soothing sounds of drops on the roof and the waves under you. You are in total privacy with a steep rock wall behind you and the sea in front of you. Breathe deeply and let go. The space Helle is a beautiful rural area with a few houses by a small fjord surrounded by steep mountains. The cabin is an excellent starting point for hikes in the mountains or on the many small local roads, where you litterally can walk almost everywhere not needing to be afraid of disturbing someone's privacy. Bergen can be reached by car in 50 minutes and with train in 35 minutes (a 30 min. walk to Stanghelle station). Buses also stop in Helle (a 5 min. walk). We have kayaks and a canoe for rent if you want to explore the fjord. The famous Bergen railway goes on the other side of the fjord. You can hear and see the trains. Bed: Murphy bed 140 cm wide. Food: Grocery store in Stanghelle (3 min drive, 30 min walk). Grocery store in Dale, open Sundays, too (5 min drive, 1 h walk). Guest access PLEASE READ ELECTRICITY The lights are powered by solar panels. The heating, fridge and stove is powered by 230V through a black wire that is coming from the outside. There is one branch outlet behind the stove and one beside the bed if you need electricity. Please don't remove the fridge contact from the outlet. WATER Hot water There is a 30 l water boiler, so keep in mind if you are two who both want a long shower. Shower Inside the cabinet above the toilet there is extra toilet paper. GARBAGE Use the green bin outside the door. Please don't use the neighbours' garbage bins beside the parking place. FURNITURE Bed: The double bed can be raised up against the wall during the day. It has a top mattress and sheets. The pillows and covers are stored on a shelf above the bed. Chairs: The anatomical foldable armchairs are bought to give you extra comfort. You can use them inside and outside, and remember to bring them in if it starts to rain. The small bistro chairs and table can also be used outside. OUTSIDE AREA The wire hanging on the rock wall is connected to an electric cabinet 30 m down the road and gives 230V to the cabin. Please leave it like it is. Barbecue: There is a grill on the terrace and barbecue tools in the drawer in the small table with metal top. If you don't have charcoal you will find it together with lighter fluid behind the wall of the cabin at the terrace side. The other cabin is also ours. Other things to note Please read this before you book to avoid any misunderstandings and false expectations: TOILET: Please dispose toilet paper in the bin beside the toilet and not in the toilet, as the pipes easily get clogged. Ther bags can be disposed in the green bin outside BATHROOM: The bathroom is simple. There is not a shower cabinet, so the bathroom floor will be wet when you shower. You can use the sweeper to dry it and an extra towel that we give you. STAIRS: The stairs from the road down to the cabin are steep and can be slippery when wet, so please be careful. TRAINS: Trains are passing by on the other side of the fjord. You will hear them and the flute signal. RAIN: During heavy rain, much water is coming down along the mountain behind the entrance. This will not be a problem for you except that it sounds like small waterfalls at the most intense. This is beyond our control. You are in rainland, close to the elements.
