Relax with the family at this peaceful place to stay. Very cozy and efficient 3 BR house. Host is onsite. Located on 2.5 acre secluded property. Pond with mature Cypress and free ranging ducks. Rear of property has over 200 ft of shoreline on historic Bayou Manchac. There is a fishing pier/boat dock with adjacent fire pit and 3 person canoe. Concrete boat launch provides access to hundreds of miles of navigable water ways via the Amite and Blind Rivers, Lake Maurepas and Lake Pontchartrain. House new in 2016 and has recent remodeling and brand new furnishings. 3 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, a futon sleeper sofa, 2 full baths, laundry room and a full size kitchen. A lot of convenience in 900 square feet! With over 2.5 acres, we have plenty of room to park your vehicles. 3 spaces directly adjacent to the rent house. Additionally, plenty of space for trailer and boat parking free of charge. Our concrete boat launch into Bayou Manchac, almost always provides launching for kayaks, canoes and small boats. Launching larger boats is contingent on boat size, towing vehicle and the fluctuating water level in the bayou. We launch our 20’ pontoon boat from our backyard quite often If our launch is not conducive for launching your boat, there is a great free public launch into the Amite River 10 minutes drive from here. The property is awesome! Canoeing, fishing and boat launch available. A 3 person canoe, paddles, life vests, fishing rods/gear and bait are provided to guests free of charge. Just let us know before arriving if you need bait. There is privacy and quiet, but enough room to have fun without disturbing neighbors, especially down by the bayou. Lighted boardwalk allows guests direct walking access to the bayou. Security cameras are outdoors only. There is security/safety lighting all around, even in the far back areas. Flashlights are also provided. Bird watching galore! Beside a plethora of song birds. and our ducks, you may see wild ducks, great herons, egrets, cow birds, ravens, cormorants, hawks, owls, kites, occasional bald eagles, a variety of woodpeckers including the giant pileated woodpeckers, etc. Also, squirrels, rabbits, fox, raccoons, deer and maybe alligators(mostly spotted down the bayou from us). 30 minutes to Downtown Baton Rouge or LSU Campus. Geaux Tigers! Just over an hour drive to New Orleans. A bit longer by boat! But doable! Guests are welcome on most of the property, from the front yard all the way down to the bayou. Please respect the back porch of the main house, vegetable garden, garage, shop and sawmill areas.This is about a 1/4 acre adjacent to the main house, opposite side of property from rent house. We are onsite hosts. Love to meet guests in person but definitely respect privacy. My wife, Hilary and I will do are best to make your stay here as comfortable as possible. Surrounding neighbors have very spacious properties. This is definitely a vehicle necessary destination. You are also welcome to bring a boat. Free parking for 3 vehicles adjacent to rent house. Additional free parking available on grounds. This is Southeast Louisiana. Although we are located a short distance from urban Baton Rouge, this is an out in the country setting. Our property is connected to a still wild environment. That’s why we get to enjoy so much wildlife.
