Gas, Food, Groceries, Rx, and Bars - minutes away, some walk-able. Triple Nickel Distillery is right across the street! St. Mary's - 15 min. Medix - 10 min. Benezette - 15 min. Quehanna Wild Area 20-30 min. Parker Dam State Park- 10-15 min. Dubois - 20 min. Winery(s) 2-20 min. Northern PA residential setting that sits nicely with the sun angle in a picturesque setting. If you are looking for a "base camp" - this is the place. The location in combination with conveniences of modern life can't be beat. Also a good setup if you are working remotely and want to be able to gallivant to different activities in your free time! The main portion of the home is constructed in the old "Plank-and-Frame" style that was common prior to stick construction. The way the roof line intersects the ceiling (this was done to save heat) really makes the upstairs unique and feel calming. Be aware that you are near bars, other residential properties, and that the main route of all traffic in the region is two streets away. Location is key here, but if you are looking for " total peace and quiet/ somewhere to sit and relax" I'd honestly advise that this in not the best place for you. Washer/Dryer on site and available for use. *Summer Months Window AC units (2) upstairs. (1) downstairs. Do not move. NO CENTRAL AC. Gas appliances. Front left burner ignition on stove is weak, so use a lighter if you want to use that burner. **New above the range microwave, new coffee pot. toaster and fridge also provided. We have good Verizon cell, easy access to food and gas, Fast Wifi and Netflix with a smart TV in the main living room and largest bedroom. Public water and sewer - so you will not have to worry about the pitfalls of private systems found in many more remote locations. Public river access (including canoe launch) and access to 1500 acres of public space through the conservancy, is only one minute away! All finished living space is yours to enjoy. No attic access. Limited basement access: There is an extra shower if you are muddy and the water shutoff is near the hot water tank in back left of cellar in event of emergency. Area under porch is off limits as well as under the laundry. We live 90 minutes away, but are in the area some weekends because we love the region. You will likely only communicate with us only via the app! ...So you can enjoy the place without us in your face :). We would be happy to suggest activities, particularly in the hiking/photography areas where I have a depth of knowledge in the area. The Quehanna is a truly special place to go for an adventure and Parker Dam State Park is great place for a variety of activities that the whole family can enjoy. (Beach, fishing, hiking, concessions, pavilions, canoeing, etc) Rural residential that is typical of many older small towns in the area. Pretty area, but there is some poverty typical of this region. 2 car spots out front; directly in front of home. Easy access to highway. I recommend turning onto chestnut ave from 255 Northbound, left after the Force Hotel, to park in the same direction as traffic. Property is located in Force (not Brynedale) but either address takes you to this location. Stay in the yard. No fires - use the grill on the porch. No Smoking in the home! Do not park more than two vehicles directly in front of the property, immediate each side of the hand rail for the steps. Not suitable for persons with disabilities. (ADA, difficulty with steps, etc). The property has steps from the street, at all entrances, and to the bedrooms.
