The view from the covered porch of this 3-bedroom Bungalow, a bathing house, built in the early 1900s, is an ever exploding fusion of white and black birds taking wing over the island out front with swimming cove nearby. Grandfathered to sit right on the shoreline, the Bungalow is a variation of house with swimming pool, only it's the ocean, not a swimming pool. Even if you do nothing else, the view from this house with swimming cove is the reason why you should rent this house. The space Located on the ocean's very edge with swimming cove and view of Blue Hill mountain, bay and islands, the Bungalow is on Parker Point Road, half a mile from Blue Hill village. The cove and yard are shared by guests staying in the Bungalhigh close by. The living room has fireplace, antiques and dining room, plus adjoining covered porch with furniture & view. The kitchen has dining room and sitting area, and there are three bedrooms and one bathroom; two rooms have Queen and Full-size beds; the third has twin beds. All bedrooms are on the same level as the kitchen, living room and porch. The house does not have a washer and dryer, nor air conditioning. It has one bathroom with small shower. Each bedroom has a fan, and it can't be stressed enough that guests staying in the Bungalhigh cottage are nearby. As well, we ourselves live in the Green House nearby. This is a family compound. There are lots of people here. The cottage is Pet-Friendly and almost Disabilities-Friendly (two steps up and you're in the kitchen.) Dogs must get along with other dogs, please, or don't bring them. Other dogs might be on the property while you are here. If there are any infants in your party, please let me know in advance which bed the child is to sleep in, so I can make the bed up with a plastic sheet. I can put a Pack N Play and High Chair in the cottage for you with advance notice. I have an extra LL Bean Cot for use with extra adults, available on request. A mooring is available with advance arrangement. There is a Rowboat & 3 kayaks, shared by guests in the nearby Bungalhigh. We are Located in Blue Hill's inner harbor near the town. The house has views of the water, island, mountain, boat basin, and village. Seals swim in the bay. The Bungalow was built as a bathing house for a larger house at the turn of the century. In addition to the covered porch, the living room with fireplace has old books, antiques, comfortable sofas, and white woolen rugs. A dining room flanks the French windows overlooking the bay, ideal for family dinners. It opens into a large, eat-in kitchen with desk, and guests like that the three guest bedrooms are on the same level as the living room with views of the bay and gardens. The 3 bedrooms in the main house have one queen bed, one full bed, and one twin room, and they share one bathroom with shower. Please bring a bluetooth wireless speaker for use from your phone, if you would like music. We are streaming Netflix, NBC, Sling, Disney Plus, and Tennis TV on Roku. BBQ Gas grill is available. Campfires are allowed in the cove or in the firepit on the point. There's a bench on the point to the left of the Bungalow available for guests' use. Trash goes in the pump house in the parking lot. Available June through October. For large parties we operate Captain's House in Blue Hill, half a mile away and the Bungalhigh is a one bedroom cottage close to the Bungalow, available on request. Captain's House is located on the other side of the country club. Guest access Guests have access to the Bungalow cottage, the cove and all the land around the Bungalow. That includes the lawn infront of the green house next door, the bench on the point in front of the green house next door where the BBQ grill is, the orchard behind the Bungalhigh, the large parking lot; it includes the lawn on both sides of the walk way leading from the parking lot to the house, and the pump house in the parking lot, where we put trash... Off limits to guests is the Bungalhigh cottage, the shed, the green house, and the red shuttered house on the far side of the woods... Other things to note There are three kayaks and a rowboat for guests' use. Swimming is subject to tide, but the mooring out front sits in a deep basin in front of the house, which offers about six feet of water at low tide.... The mooring is a 2000 lb granite block, suitable for large yachts, available on request but usually available.
