Connect, unwind and be immersed in nature from the comfort of this sustainable hempcrete cottage. Situated on the outskirts of Wingham on the Simple Patch Permaculture farm, The Cottage over looks edible gardens and native forest, all thriving with wildlife. The space The Bedroom Spend the morning watching the sun rise above the hills from the comfort of bed or shut the blockout blinds and snuggle deeper in. The spacious bedroom contains a king bed made with quality linen and cotton bedding, wardrobe and desk over looking terraced gardens. Kitchen, Living, Dining The kitchenette is stocked with all your cooking essentials, full sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave and induction cook top. Dine inside at the table or step out under the grape covered pergola and pick some herbs to accompany your meal, fresh from your private, organic kitchen garden. From the lounge you can take in the views of the valley or watch your favourite shows. The lounge slides out to provide extra bedding if required. Air-conditioning being added on in the 1st week of December. Bathroom Contains an overhead shower, toilet, washing machine and basin. Zero co toiletry products provided. The water in the cottage is filtered tank water and we ask that you please be mindful of this precious resource. The Building Experience the comfort of thoughtful, sustainable house design. The Cottage has utilised passive solar design, natural building materials and double glazed windows to create a space which stays cool in summer and warm in winter without requiring air conditioning. The cottage has an off-grid solar system which can provide for your electrical needs while Starlink internet can keep you connected if you wish. The Farm The Simple Patch is an organic, regenerative homestead that is working with nature to create a biodiverse, food rich landscape for all creatures. You're welcome to walk around the farm or head down to cool off in the creek, but please be mindful of the wild life and please do not enter any animal paddocks. - Farm fresh free-range eggs provided seasonally when chickens are laying. Farm experiences are available on request; Meet & Treat the farm animals - $30 Come meet our chickens, rooster and horses. We will feed them tasty treats, give them pats and check the coop to collect the eggs for the day. Building tour - $50 In this tour we will share with you our story, knowledge and wisdom on sustainable house building. We can personalise this tour around your interests in Solar Passive Design, hempcrete, off-grid living and building in a fire prone area. Farm and Garden Tour - $50 In this tour we will show you around our permaculture farm, introduce you to the animals and explain the design strategies we have implemented. We will visit the food forest, staple crop terrace garden, kitchen garden. Things to do around Wingham - Visit waterfalls at Ellenborough or Potaroo Falls - Visit local markets - Meander through Wingham township with local cafes and boutique stores - Stroll through Wingham Brush Rainforest Reserve - Go mountain biking at Kiwarrak MTB trail Other things to note Being off-grid, all power and water needs are met via solar panels, batteries and filtered tank water.
