*Pool table!* It’s easy to imagine time-traveling to the Old West when you stay in this 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo in the heart of Old Colorado City Historic District, especially with a mural of early Colorado Springs right outside your front door! Located on the second floor of an old-time building, painted with butterflies, it has artsy character and is within strolling distance of restaurants, shops, cafes, cocktail lounges & more. The Rocky Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop! I am a very dedicated host and guests can call or text me with any questions! I have a very fast response rate! My contact information will provided in the home. If you have a soft spot for history and classic American architecture, you’ll love staying in the Old Colorado City historic district. Locals and visitors alike love this charming area of Colorado Springs for its storied past, its beautifully restored older homes, and its lively collection of dining, shopping, coffee shops, cocktail lounges, breweries, museums and more. Your home-away-from-home is a two-minute walk to a convenience store, and is located on the same block as a lounge, ice cream shop, bakery, coffee shop, and Thai, Greek, and Mexican restaurants. Amble along the next couple of blocks and find even more choices in dining, cafes and watering holes, as well as a camping store, gift shops, and Bancroft Park, site of the Colorado Springs Farmers Market. You might be surprised by how quick and easy it is to transform from the artsy vibe of Old Colorado City to the fresh, rugged character of the Rocky Mountains and their surroundings, where you can enjoy a wide variety of exhilarating outdoor activities including hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, hunting, fishing, rafting, ziplining, and more. Here are some of the more popular outdoor attractions, and how long it takes to reach them by car: Red Rock Canyon Open Space: hiking trails, bike park (4 minutes) Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center: ancient rock formations tower 300 feet overhead (6 minutes) Bear Creek Regional Park East: hiking and biking trails, tennis courts, playground (7 minutes) Pikes Peak (a/k/a “America’s Mountain”: a must-see, standing a breathtaking 14,115 feet above sea level (13 minutes). Santa Fe Regional Trail: hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing; picturesque Palmer Lake (15 minutes) Getting around We recommend that you have a car or use Uber or Lyft when traveling in the Pikes Peak Region. We're happy to provide bus schedules and maps too if you'd like to use public transportation. Enter the door marked “The Keys” and climb one flight. As the bright, loft-like living space opens to your left, the first thing you’ll notice is the beautiful pool table, ready to indulge your daydreams of a 19th century billiard hall crowded with cowboys and hopeful gold miners. You’ll find everything you need to play. This open living space is bookended by a cozy alcove with a TV, two comfy chairs, and a chess table, and on the opposite end, a unique bar painted to look like a piano keyboard! Sadle on up, pardner, and take a seat on one of three stools. Just remember – the last one is reserved for the sheriff. Beyond the bar is a spacious kitchen where you’ll find a high-top dining table with four stools for lively meals with good company. Culinary enthusiasts, get cookin’! You’ll find plenty of granite counter space for food prep, plus a range, microwave, dishwasher, wine fridge, full refrigerator around the corner, double sink, coffee maker, chef’s knives, spices, and a tea kettle. As you work, you’ll be cheered by the daylight streaming through two windows overlooking colorful Colorado Avenue. Plus, you’ll be glad to know that you’re just two short blocks from Bancroft Park, site of the Colorado Springs Farmers Market. Back out in the open main living area, a narrow support wall separates the pool table from a small living room behind it, where a plump leather two-seater sofa and coffee table invite you to put your feet up and watch the wall-mounted TV with streaming apps for your subscriptions. This is the second of two TV-viewing areas. Don’t like what the others are watching? You’ve got another option. This home has two bedrooms, both furnished with queen beds and dressers. One has a large walk-in closet. You’ll also enjoy the convenience of two full bathrooms. One features a fabulous soaking tub with a hand shower nozzle, plus a large sink vanity. The other bath has a shower stall. Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit. This property is family managed so you will recieve the upmost care and attention that’s worthy of your 5-star review. UPDATE: We listened to your requests and have upgraded to 3 heavy duty air conditioning units! We truly care about our guests and wholeheartedly try to put the service back in customer service!
