2 BRs, Easy Walking in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow

This special place, newly renovated and lovingly decorated, has a private entrance, off-street parking, and a washer/dryer. Close to everything the Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown area offers - a short walk to both downtowns, the Metro North train to NYC, Hudson River parks, the Jazz Forum, the Tarrytown Music Hall, a Saturday farmers market. A mile walk to the incomparable Rockefeller Park Preserve, 1.5 miles to Kykuit, 2 miles to Lyndhurst. The list of attractions and destinations goes on and on... The space The apartment is the ground floor of our 3-story, 2-family home, located on a landscaped quarter-acre lot that's an easy 1/3 mile walk from the downtowns of both Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow. As you can see from the photos, we've decorated the apartment with a good deal of care, and since many of the objects and furnishings are delicate, we're only renting to adults. The kitchen was designed and equipped for cooking, so while there are numerous wonderful restaurants in our and nearby towns, take advantage of it if you're so inclined (there are two excellent grocery stores close by). It's also important to note that the kitchen, which is where you first enter the apartment, is a step higher than the other rooms. This is especially important to keep in mind when moving between it and the living room, since there is no doorway between the two areas. The entrance to the apartment is down the driveway and around the back of our house, and it looks out to a small patio (with a small table and 4 chairs), our backyard and vegetable garden. The apartment is generally very quiet, with the exception that, because we live upstairs, our footfalls are not completely inaudible, and during the day you may occasionally hear the barking of our Boxer, Pearl. She's definitely people-friendly, but will bark when new people (especially those bringing mail or packages) approach the house. Other things to note As you may have noticed in the photos, the bookshelf is filled mostly with books by progressive authors. If you're not comfortable with that, you may wish to find other accommodations.
