Important (and fun) note about what that means: The Sundowner is a classic lakeside motor lodge—what many people lovingly call a “motel.” If your idea of a perfect stay involves sprawling resorts, endless hallways, or high-rise hotel towers, we may not be the right fit—and that’s okay 😊 If, however, you appreciate nostalgic Lake George charm, a walk-up-style property, a lively waterfront setting, and thoughtfully renovated rooms with modern comforts, you’ll feel right at home here. The main "downtown" village is approximately 5 minutes walking (all side walks) and the sandy beach, pool, hot tub kayaks and other amenities are a 30 ft walk from your front door. A family-run (not ours) Italian restaurant that has been in business since 1954 is located directly across the street and there is a breakfast place two buildings over.
