We can't wait to welcome you to our hidden gem right outside the town of New Freedom! The 1805 historic, authentically restored, cabin, guest house is on a peaceful 45 acre horse farm. Relax in the Adirondack chairs under the mighty oak and enjoy the peaceful, expansive, rolling, country views, farms, a stocked pond w/ Koi & bass, wild ducks, geese and horse pastures. 1 & 1/2 miles outside of New Freedom, PA. Conveniently located between Baltimore, Lancaster, Gettysburg, York and Harrisburg. The space The 1805 guest cabin, cottage was built by German immigrant Johannes Hershner. It is authentically restored to be a inviting peaceful space with appropriate Pennsylvania antiques & patriotic theme furnishings. The second floor one bedroom has a NEW for 2025 a NECTAR Premier Luxe QUEEN ULTIMATE COMFORT MATTRESS/ BED and a single antique bed and window unit A/C. Beds are made up w/ clean linens and pillows and extra blankets are available. The living room has plenty of places to sit & relax along with a farm table & chairs. TV w/ dish satellite and house has unlimited internet wireless hi-speed WIFI. Kitchen has most amenities of a home, dishes, flatware, drip coffee maker, toaster, microwave, 2 burner cooktop, oven, full size refrigerator/ freezer. Coffee, tea, creamer, few spices, salt & pepper provided. The one bath has full size shower w/ great filtered well water. Clean towels and linens provided. Plenty of places to sit outside around the expansive property and under the mighty oak tree shading the house. Guest access Plenty of seating available outside the guest house. Guests will have access to the expansive property, gardens and can look over fences at horses & chickens & chicken coop. However no one is permitted in fields, paddocks or buildings or with the animals without supervision from owners. Guests are welcome to walk around pond. No swimming or fishing in the pond as our pet koi fish live there. No guns on property please. Other things to note The stairs to bedroom are old & winding, typical of a 200+ year old home. IF you have trouble navigating stairs this is NOT the place for you! Otherwise, relax, rejuvenate and enjoy this farms expansive scenery, gardens, pond, wildlife and neighboring Amish buggy's driving past the farm here in southern PA. Take a train ride 1 & 1/2 miles from here on the Northern Central Railway tourist train or enjoy the local Amish Markets, Brewery's, Winery's. Orchards, Restaurants, wedding venues & shopping that this rural but hip area has to offer! Several wedding venues nearby, we are a great place to stay if you are the bride & groom or attending a wedding! Also close to Prettyboy Reservoir & many state parks! We also have an antiques & collectibles shop inside our barn & have occasional visitors stopping by. We LOVE pets, but sorry we DO NOT allow pets due to our antique furnishings and floors.
