It includes a main bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom (shower and bathtub) and a second bedroom with two single beds and ensuite bathroom (shower). The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area features an indoor fireplace, while the covered patio has a built-in braai and seating. The space Blue Crane Farm - Trout and Wildlife Estate in Dullstroom is an exceptional destination for fly-fishing enthusiasts, featuring two meticulously maintained and well-stocked trout dams. Our larger dam spans an impressive 9 hectares and includes several jetties to enhance your fly-fishing experience. This charming venue boasts stunning natural scenery and is home to free-roaming wildlife, including species such as fallow deer, springbok, blesbok, zebra, hartebeest, and vaal rhebok. The birdlife is remarkable, with several endangered species, including the Blue Crane and Crowned Cranes, regularly nesting on the farm. The farm offers accommodation in eight well-appointed self-catering units, ranging from cozy 2-sleeper cottages to spacious 8-sleeper houses. Blue Crane Farm can accommodate up to 44 guests in total, making it the ideal venue for both small and large group bookings. Each unit provides privacy while remaining easily accessible, allowing you to visit family or friends in neighboring units. All accommodations face the waterfront, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding grasslands. Guest access The venue features stunning scenery and provides an opportunity to see free-roaming game species such as springbok, blesbok, zebra, hartebeest, and vaal rhebuck. We invite all our guests to immerse themselves in nature by hiking on the farm. The farm's perimeter is approximately 6 km if you take a circular route, with several interconnected farm roads over the hills that are ideal for hiking, cycling, or jogging. A stroll around the large dam covers a distance of about 1.5 km to 2 km. The difficulty level for all walks is easy, as all paths are well-maintained and require no climbing. There are two dams on the farm where guests can enjoy fly fishing. Both dams are stocked with rainbow trout, while the larger 9-hectare dam also contains brown trout. Other things to note Please note that Blue Crane Farm is exclusively a fly fishing venue. All fish must be caught and released; bass rods and equipment are strictly prohibited. We rely on the honesty of our guests. If you would like to keep any fish you catch, there is a charge of R100 per fish. Firewood is available for sale at R30 per bag. Please remember that no pets are allowed on the premises.
