HnM Kandy Double or Family Suite

This is a separate unit from the main house and offers complete privacy. We built this space for nature lovers to enjoy waking up to calls of birds, sight of great mountains and a misty river in the horizon. It is large & airy, on a peaceful mountain with good road access, located a 10min walk from the main rd. to Ella. We are also a stones throw away from the city of Kandy, Uni. of Peradeniya, waterfalls & many adventure sites. The space The unit is facing the Hanthana mountain range and directly beneath in the morning you will see the path of the Mahaweli River, Sri Lanka's longest river by the mists that rise from it. You will see far away into the tea capitol Nuwara Eliya and beyond. * the unit is in the 2nd floor and if you cannot self carry your bag we do not recommend booking us as we are unable to lift bags for you. * we have a cat and dog (if your not pet friendly you might meet them, if you love animals hey come and pet them and love them :) The bed is premium quality Latex rubber from Sri Lanka's own plantations, large, Queen size (68 x 64 inches) with a medium tensile factor which provides a very deep and refreshing sleep. The curtains can be drawn fully to allow you to close out the light even during the day to get a semi-dark ambience. All the furniture is hand made from 30-50 year old Mahogani trees from the home garden it self - we are big about sustainability. This is also why our water is heated using a solar heater and the electricity is generated by a solar inverter and panels. The gardens while being home sized, hosted over 25 species of woody species and many other herbs and spices and even a tea and coffee tree. We are eco friendly and have insects, birds, butterflies in our gardens and spaces as they are a valued part of our natural and cultural heritage. We do not use pesticides or insecticides and be ready to meet these wild life. The silence is barely broken by human sounds. You can hear birds as they carry on their lives in our garden trees. The back yard you face with the almost panoramic large glass facades open into an amphitheater structure with trees and plants. The unit has its own private washroom and toilet, again which is very large and has a mountain view. You will have direct access by vehicle to the unit, park in the ground floor and come up. The kitchen is a shared space but barely anyone else will be using it. We also have an additional village kitchen with firewood for you to use. Hi Guest access You can roam around the house from the Unit to the Kitchen which is downstairs, and the to Balcony made from Aluminum sheets and the roofed open area before it. You can also use the Kitchen items (Oven, gas cooker, electrical cooker, fridge, toaster, tea pot, coffee maker (when it works :) ), the out door village kitchen and the Barrel pizza oven. You are also to use the garden to read, to play and to sing. Other things to note At the moment we don’t offer shower gel and shampoo. We do have toilet paper, towels, bed sheets, hand wash.
