Trip insurance recommended if illness, weather or smoke may be an issue. Please note there is construction next door by the property owner, a contractor. Noise limited to working hrs. The space This home was custom built by the owner and it is evident at every turn. Though the house has a small footprint, it lives large and was featured by the Environmental Center of Bend for it's innovation, efficiency and quality construction. Hydronic heated floors throughout result in quiet, even comfort and a noticeably calm environment. Blackout shades let you set your own schedule in the sunny high desert. Exposed beams, solid doors, high ceiling, expert tilework -- this isn't your typical rental. The home has treetop views and even a glimpse of the river from the rear bedroom. But as they say, location, location, location! Being so near the river, yet also nearby access to the highway and downtown means you'll spend less time in the car and more time soaking up the Central Oregon outdoors. Guest access You'll have space for one vehicle in the gravel driveway directly between the home and the street. There is also free (24/7) street parking. Other things to note Please note that the laundry room (downstairs, very separate from the living space and fully lockable) will be used by our housekeeper during your stay. She is a professional and quiet. The laundry will only be used for a single load, between 11AM-2PM. Also note that there is another Airbnb in a next door house on the lot. The second story patio faces the Airbnb, so we do ask guests to be consciencious of noise when on the patio (no music, please). There is no shared wall or any shared spaces, but noting this for full transparency. The neighbor next door to the west is under construction. As of November 2024, the framing is completed and the roof is installed. Wildfire smoke is a significant risk in the mid-summer to late fall in the PNW, especially east of the Cascades. Please note that both Airbnb (and by extension, us as hosts) can not predict or control the weather or the smoke, and neither of these are considered grounds for exceptions to the refund policy. If you want a more flexible cancellation policy due to air quality/smoke, we recommend purchasing travel insurance through Airbnb, which is offered to you during the booking process. If your time in Bend is impacted by smoke, we are happy to help you make the best of it—there are often times of day or parts of the surrounding area that are far less smoky than others. We live here and understand the challenge.
