The luxurious yet quaint cottage sits gently in a homely corner among the rolling hills of this 3rd generation, 800 acre working dairy and beef farm. The cottage has been lovingly restored with a blend of antique and modern to create the perfect Australian farmhouse. Ideal for couples wanting a romantic getaway or families wanting a country experience. The space The property is located in Cambroon, just outside of the popular country towns of Kenilworth and Maleny. Visit these historic country towns, eat at renowned bakeries, restaurants, cafes and craft breweries. Enjoy crisp country air, idyllic bush walks and waterways or explore the property. Pat calves, swim and kayak in the Mary River, collect delicious free range eggs, watch the amazing king parrots in the surrounding trees, roast marshmallows in your fire pit and stargaze the night away. The kids will love the open space to kick a footy, throw a Frisbee or ride a bike. Watch them, beverage in hand as they while away the hours searching for the perfect skimming stone along the banks of the Mary River. Cambroon Cottage is the perfect getaway where you can hideaway or get amongst everything the region has to offer. You decide. Whatever you choose, host Kacey's genuine country hospitality will have you feeling like one of the family the moment you set foot on her picturesque property. Kacey's golden free range eggs, honey, milk and delicious rain water will bring back memories of a simpler, clean life. Book a stay and rejuvenate. You'll never want to leave. Guest access The cottage, surrounding garden and lawn, outdoor living and firepit areas are exclusively yours to enjoy. Once you enter the shared driveway, continue up past the main house and steel shed to the cottage at the very rear of the property. The shed separates the cottage and the residence making both very private. Check yourself in. Park on the old concrete milking yards at the front of the cottage or on the lawn at the back patio. Other things to note We have a minimum of 2 nights however if you are looking at 1 night only, please get in touch and we will see if we can make that work for you. There is no television, but board games, puzzles, books and magazines are provided. WiFi is available and mobile reception (Telstra only) is patchy. In the bathroom there is a washing machine and walk in shower with grab rail. A BBQ is available. Cleaning products are available in the bathroom cupboard. There is one step at the rear and two at the front of the property to consider. We stock a basic pantry with a selection of teas, hot chocolate and ground coffee beans, salt, pepper and olive oil. There are a selection of herbs available from the pots on the outdoor morning deck area for you to pick from. Rainwater is collected for all your needs, including drinking and cooking. If there has been no rain we buy in water. If you would prefer bottled water, please pick it up in town. We have a septic system so please remember to flush only toilet paper when using the toilet. Dispose of all other sanitary waste in the rubbish bin. We ask your help to return compostable materials to the earth and recycle when possible. There is a compost bin under the sink for your use and ask that you put recyclable bottles and cans in small metal bin . The rubbish and recycling bins are located over near the shed. Our resources are limited so we ask that you please consider this, please don't waste the tank water, use the air conditioners only when necessary and turn the lights off when leaving the cottage. This is the country and with it comes country sounds, dogs bark, and cows moo. My maremma dogs are guardian dogs and will be heard occasionally barking in the paddock protecting the chickens. We also live on a lovely country road but it is the main throughfare to town so please expect a little road noise during the day.
