This sprightly home, with our sister one next door on its own private lot (book separately), are the ONLY ones on Margrethe on a natural hill, providing exclusive elevated lake views, w/ a bonus wide, flat lakeside area. Uniquely private on a street w/ only 3 homes, ours are separated from that 3rd non-lakefront one by a wooded lot. Experience the tranquility of a natural setting, with a dock & lakeside deck! The main head is capable of cooling the entire house, but each bedroom has it's own head in order to customize the temperature while you and your guests sleep! This is a bright and comfortable, no-pets, non-smoking home with lots of conveniences: • Beautiful brand new, well-stocked kitchen. • New whole-house natural gas standby generator to protect your valuable vacation time from frequent Northern Michigan power outages. WE ARE THE ONLY RENTALS ON THE LAKE WITH AUTOMATIC WHOLE-HOUSE GENERATORS! The entire house is provided with electricity in a blink-of-an eye during an outage. A true luxury! • Free, fast wifi up to 500 Mbps. • 50" HD TV with upgraded Dolby Atmos sound bar and woofer unit combo. • Roku built-in to the TV so you can sign in to your streaming accounts. • Free 125-channel cable service (HGTV, Discovery, ESPN, Fox, CNN, etc.) For those less "techie", the house manual contains novice-level instructions on how to bypass streaming if you only want to watch cable. • Well-lit desk with 6-outlet surge suppressor/power strip with 3 USB charging ports. • Both beds king-sized and have a built-in USB charging port to charge two devices. Once you descend the stairs down the hill, the entire lakefront of the property has a wide, level area to better enjoy the crystal waters of Lake Margrethe! Hang out on the deck or the dock (installed from late spring through early fall), have your lunch at the picnic table, move the folding Adirondack chairs to your favorite part of the property, or take a dip in the lake or lay out in the sun on the provided beach towels. Bring your boat and launch at the public boat ramp and use our dock to load and unload for your outings. Anchor your boat off-shore or use our tie-off to tether your boat to, which is easy to locate via its buoy. We also have easily accessible parking for your boat or snowmobile trailer. (Adirondack chairs, beach towels, dock, tie-off buoy, and fire rings available seasonally.) Have fun, and stay safe, but just in case, we have: • A 180-piece OSHA-certified first aid kit located in the laundry room. • Fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink. • Smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. • Munson Healthcare Grayling, formerly known as Mercy Hospital, located in town only about 6 miles away, at 1100 E. Michigan Avenue. And by the way, most shopping, dining, and nightlife is also in town, only 5 or 6 miles away. By town, we mean the City of Grayling. Yes, with a population of less than 2,000, Grayling wears big britches and calls itself a city! It even has art galleries! We're located in the unincorporated township of Grayling, but all of Grayling is proud of everything it has to offer for such a small place! The views of this property, along with our sister cottage next door, "wow" even locals who grew up on the lake. We hear over and over that they had no idea a view like ours existed on Lake Margrethe! It has a fantastic panoramic view that is difficult to properly convey in a 2-D format. Photographs make it appear that there are trees, trees everywhere, blocking the view, but we stripped the lower branches off to maximize the view, which confers a truly unique woodsy lakefront setting. Also of note is the fact that there are almost no other houses to be seen across the lake from our location! Not only do we have the only elevated views on the lake, but we are situated where we look across the lake at undeveloped forest, most of which is part of the state park! This is the absolute premier location on the lake! A little secret is that our two properties have been in the family for about 85 years and were vacation rentals many decades ago! An interesting fact is that all of the artwork is original, created by family members or their friends. We're excited to again offer these properties, now with modern conveniences, to new generations, especially for those already familiar with Lake Margrethe!
