Fairbanks Alaska Summer seasons begins around early May and lasts until late September. Summers can get relatively hot, but much cooler up here in the hills. Pretty much nobody in Alaska has AC to include this house, but there are plenty of windows to open and allow the fresh air in. Mosquitos are pretty much considered the Alaska state bird, so be prepared for them in the summer months. That said, again up here in the hills, they are not as bad as down in the valleys and closer to water sources. You will not see the Northern Lights during this time, as it is consider the Land of the Midnight Sun... meaning you will have just shy of 24 hours of light. The Winter, "Aurora Season", begins around mid September and last until mid April. There are no guarantees you will see the lights, but the chances are significantly higher. This is the time where there is little to no sunlight, cold days, and lots of snow. You can download the Aurora App on your cell phone to help track the probability of seeing the lights during your stay. That said, this home sits in the hills north of Fairbanks, free from the light pollution so chances are much higher. The hosts also enjoy viewing the lights and will gladly notify if/when the lights are out if you so desire. Guests should feel free to reach out to the hosts for tips and tricks for dressing experiencing the Alaska winters. The listing is for 2-6 guests. We are able to accommodate additional guests if necessary. If you are interested in booking this listing for any number over 6, please feel free to reach out to us. The hosts do have 2 little dogs at the home that they will primary keep in the master bedroom, but guests may see them occasionally as they are brought down and outside for potty breaks. The hosts are also professional photographers. If guests are interested in photo opportunities, please inquire either prior to or during reservation.
