Description
An oasis of peace and tranquility on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Country walks, wildlife and two village pubs on the doorstep. Perfectly placed for visiting local hot spots like Haworth and 'Happy Valley' country, with the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales around. Jane's Lodge is on a small farm, there may be sheep in our fields. As such we can not accept dogs or pets of any size, however well behaved. We are not suitable for children, toddlers or babies. Jane’s Lodge is strictly no smoking. The space Jane's lodge is a modern and comfortable annexe, set in our orchard and separate from the house. It is secluded and not overlooked by us or anyone else. There is a footpath that runs behind the back field wall, but this is some distance from the lodge and is not busy. I’m summer, you can enjoy bbqs and al fresco dining on your own patio, whilst looking out over beautiful countryside. The bbq is charcoal and a bag of instant light will be provided, as well as a lighter! As the nights turn colder, you might enjoy the cosy warmth of the log burner. We set the fire but don't include logs. We do have plenty to purchase at £5 for a half basket and £10 for a full one. All kiln dried as these are the only logs we use. The kitchen is stocked with basics such as instant coffee, a few coffee pods, ground coffee bags, teabags, sugar, a pint of semi skimmed milk (unless you would like a different sort, just let me know), salt, pepper, sunflower oil spray and kitchen roll. It is well equipped, with an Nespresso Essenza Mini (the small, original pods), a cafetiere, full oven, ceramic hob, microwave and slow cooker, plus a wide range of glasses, plates, bowls and dishes, mugs etc. We have tried to think of everything - we use the space too, but if we have forgotten anything, just let us know and we will provide it if we can. The bathroom has a built in toothbrush charger if you want to bring your electric toothbrush with you. Aircon is not fitted as such, but there is a Honeywell Tower Quietset Fan in the bedroom. It has 5 settings, including a sleep one, remote control and is pretty much one of the quietest and most efficient fans we've found. We can offer secure parking for motor bikes or cycles. Please note, we operate a strict no smoking policy both inside and outside the property. This includes e cigarettes/vapes. Guest access The property is accessed from the farmyard and has its own path leading to the front door. There are a series of stone steps from farmyard up to the path to the lodge. Wheelchair access is not possible. There are some lovely walks all around the village and along the riverbank, and several directly from the lodge itself. As we graze sheep, please close all gates behind you - they really enjoy getting out and munching on my roses. I am not so keen. With great walks, village amenities (shop and pubs), and fantastic rail links, you could quite easily park the car up and leave it there for your entire stay. Other things to note We look forward to welcoming our guests, we do ask that all guests are aged 20 or over. Wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties will find access difficult. There are several stairs to negotiate in order to get to the building. Jane's Lodge is not equipped with wheelchair users in mind. The Lodge doesn't have a washing machine or dryer, but you are welcome to use ours in the house. We will also bring you the ironing board and iron should you want them. Jane’s Lodge has one bedroom with a king sized bed. This is the only sleeping accommodation. Additional guests are not allowed. Because of our farm environment, we have to stress, we can not accept any pets, regardless of size or excellent behaviour. It's worth noting that our farm track is quite steep and low slung sports cars may have difficulty negotiating the angle of the hill. I managed perfectly ok in my Fiesta, but my brother's sporty F Type Jag would catch on the incline.
