The Cottage at B and M Journey Farm
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The Cottage at B and M Journey Farm is rustic and cozy and placed on a working farmette. Enjoy evening walks through pollinator spaces and the vineyard. Rise with the sunrise over New Market Gap and settle in at the fire pit overlooking the vineyard. In cooler months enjoy the cabin’s wood stove (if you wish). Hiking trails located nearby on New Market Mountain or the Shenandoah National Park. Food and wineries may be found within a short drive. The space The cottage offers guests the opportunity to experience old farmhouse cottage-style living with with opportunity to build a fire in a wood stove in cooler months. Guests may experience farm cottage living with some modern amenities such as a claw foot tub, provided linens, a Kurig, mini-fridge, microwave, and grill. Guest access Guests may walk the perimeter of the 12 acre farmette. Fence lines and gravel driveway mark the perimeter. Guests may enjoy the farm animals and wandering cats (Midnight, our black cat, loves to visit guests but the others will keep their distance). Please visit Nigerian dwarf goats and Connie the cow from outside of the fence, they do like to nibble. We feed our animals daily, so guests don’t have to, please don’t get them confused. Guests are welcome to walk the vineyard and may experience working farm noises at various times such as a lawn mower or chickens laying their eggs. Guests may see your hosts, Mike and Brittany, tending to the vineyard and gardens. Feel free to come say hi! Please do not pick wine grapes or flowers as they are there for everyone’s viewing pleasure. Your hosts are owners of Hott Apiary, a local beekeeping/honey business so the farm does include a small portion of bee hives located on the fence line in front of the goats/cows. They will not disturb cottage guests and distant walking guests if left alone. Owners have a couple HipCamp sites on the far side of the property. Please be friendly if you happen to pass by camping guests on your walk around the property and know the cottage space is for you to enjoy in entirety. Other things to note Although our cottage has a wood stove, there is regular forced air heat in the cottage.
