"La Casita" is situated on a large, double lot. It is 250 feet to Carmel Beach with a direct path right in front of our home. There are views of the beach and ocean from inside the house. We allow dogs. The entire living space is on one floor with no steps inside and a single curb step into a gated entrance. And, it is safe for kids. The house has an enclosed courtyard, separate patio and large front yard. It is a 6 block walk to the restaurants & shops of Ocean Avenue. The space If you have someone in your party that has trouble going up steps, there is a back entrance to the property that has no steps...just a flat walk into the house. There is one curb on the street which you can avoid if you pull your car up to the curb. It's a quick drive north to Pebble Beach for golf, tennis, spa and events like the AT&T Golf tournament and Concours d'Elegance. To the south are the cliffs of Big Sur, Point Lobos, and redwood forests to hike and explore. East is sunny Carmel Valley with it's wineries, shops, golf and state parks. Set amid the timeless natural beauty and spectacular ocean views that inspired the original board and batten rooms of La Casita 100 years ago, the peaceful soundtrack of waves permeates the entire property. With vaulted ceilings and interior walls of old growth redwood, abundant Carmel Stone patios, walls, and arched garden gates, La Casita retains the charm and quirkiness of old-Carmel while offering all the comforts of a modern beach house. All rooms and furnishings have been updated. Comfortable seating, 2 large TVs, all new mattresses and linens. The layout is u-shaped so there is ample privacy and separation between Bedroom 1 and the other two bedrooms. There is a gas fireplace in the living room, a gas fire-pit and grill in the courtyard. A large driveway has parking for at least 2 cars with ample street parking in front of the house. The garage is used for storing beach chairs and houses the washer and dryer. We also have a portable generator in case of a power outage. Guest access You have the entire house. Other things to note Please try to make your booking request in a calendar month. Exceptions can be made if you inquire with us. My wife and I own this house. It is the only house we rent. This was our family's second home when our kids were young. We are trying to make La Casita the best possible experience for you. During your stay, you can contact us any time for questions or issues. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area about an hour away and are available for anything that comes up during your stay. Please do not allow your dog on the beds, couch or chairs. The crib listed in the amenities is a portable crib.
