Get the privacy and nature you’re looking for located just 10minutes from town. Excellent fishing, kayaking and hiking. This clean and well maintained rustic cabin easily sleeps four. There is no electricity, but the area has great cellphone reception. There are 4cots, 1 hammock, and a clean and well serviced Outhouse. Carry in carry out or $3 a bag of garbage. The Sebasticook river wraps around the entire property providing the beautiful and peaceful sounds of water. There are maintained walking trails that wrap around the property on each side of the peninsula providing a great opportunity to explore and enjoy the 40 acres of woods, trails and the river. At the River Run Rustic cabin you can enjoy bird watching, leaf hunting, kayaking, hiking, fishing and connecting with nature. Got a small boat or kayak? Feel free to bring it! Want to use one of ours? Ask about rates and up river excursions. Easy drive up and unloading right by the cabin and a nice full river view with newly built front porch deck. Feel free to enjoy and explore the full property. Great fishing and kayaking on the river. *kayak rentals available upon request. 🚫 No hunting unless pre-approved. *There is one other cabin “Celeste cabin” on the land. If you are interested in renting both, or would like to know if other guests/dogs plan on staying during your stay, please feel free to reach out. Happy to send the link. 🔗 Guest can stay on the land and hike or fish until 2pm with permission requested and granted as long as items are cleared from the cabins and things are tidied up for the next guest. If you have questions please feel free to reach out. In app is fastest response Rural with a cute town about 10min drive with nice restaurants and supplies. Hiking trails surround both sides of the property. We encourage guests to take a stroll and explore. You will need to bring your own drinking water, bedding (sleeping bag highly recommended), and flashlight. You can grab water and supplies from the dollar general about 10min from the cabin or there’s a Walmart nearby. Firewood can be purchased and will be stocked for you for a cash fee with option to have the cabin heated and fire started before your arrival in cooler months. Let us know if you will need wood. What we provide: 🧻TP is in outhouse extra in green storage bin. Hatchet 🪓 you can harvest your own wood and kindling 🎣 Fishing tackle box miscellaneous Gas grills (4 total burners) *Charcoal grill 🍳 Basic pots, pans, and Cooking/grilling utinsels. Cups, plates. Tea kettle 🫖 🧹Cleaning supplies ( please leave everything tidy and ready for the next guest) 📻 Radio 🛟 A handful of Life jackets in various sizes and a dog life jacket. Need 1? Just ask. 🩹 first aid kit 🪑 4 chairs 4 cots 1 hammock *large Cooler (doubles as an extra seat) 🔭Telescope 🧲 Horseshoe set 🎪 E-Z UP pop up tents This is rustic. Ever wonder what off grid is like? No electricity or running water. Limited solar. We do have a rain collection barrel with a hand sink ( during non freezing months). It is operated by a floor pump located under the sink. The rain barrel water is for hand/ dish washing not drinking. We also supply a few lanterns. Battery and gas. There is also a solar powered cellphone/small electronics charger usually enough for a couple text. Recommend bringing your own rechargeable battery for phones and small electronics. The cell reception is great with my Verizon phone carrier and others. If you like watching a movie at night you can easily do so with your streaming service login. The Sebasticook is a large and fast moving river. It is just a few feet from the cabin. The “bay” in front of the cabin is calm water that’s fun to splash around in and around knee deep, but the middle of the river moves quickly. !Please keep in mind! this property is surrounded by water. If you plan to bring young children or pets we would advise bringing a life jacket that you know fits properly, especially if children cannot swim well! We do have lifejackets available in various sizes. Please inquire in advance if you would like to borrow one. Kayak rentals available, please feel free to inquire about rates, availability, and up river drop off options. In the cooler months, only experienced outdoor campers advised with proper cold weather gear, snowshoes, cold weather sleeping bags, and knowledge of how to work a wood burning stove. Though we do have a first aid kit, it’s advisable to bring your own safety gear and supplies. Washing up: Solar showers available or river for washing. there is a shower stand up “curtain” you can set up as needed and tarp. 🧼🫧please bring eco friendly soap, or we have some available in the cabin. 🏨 There is also the option for a day pass to Best Western plus hotel in Waterville. They have a pool, gym, shower rooms, and spa a short drive away for $11. Check guide for additional details. We use this option frequently and go to the fun downtown area after. Note: You are deep into a wooded area, but can drive down and park right next to the cabin weather/ vehicle permitting. Please observe road conditions before attempting to drive up to the cabin. We will not be responsible if your vehicle gets stuck or damaged. 🔥 the wood burning stove is hot. The wood burning stove will melt or burn anything placed on top. Do not touch the wood burning stove anywhere on the cast iron surface when hot and during cool down(which takes quite some time). The only thing that should be placed on the wood burning stove is the hot water metal kettle while boiling water. It is plenty hot enough to boil water. Inform children and other guests of instructions for the wood burning stove. We are not responsible for injury due to neglect of directions. 🧹Note: we are able to keep prices lower for everyone by not charging a cleaning fee. We expect all guests to remove and carry out all trash, store items neatly and make the cabin tidy for the next guest. In case of any emergency, local law enforcement does know where the cabin is located and can drive down. You can just tell them that it’s the River Run cabin at the end of McCarthy road. Additional guests are permitted to tent camp for an additional fee 🏕️. Please feel free to inquire. Check out River Run Rustic Cabins and Eco-friendly Resort page on FB for local events and happenings, and what’s going on at River Run.
