Cozy apartment & sauna in the center of Saariselkä

Welcome to my holiday home in the heart of Saariselkä – only a few minutes' walk away of Urho Kekkonen National Park trailheads. I renovated and furnished my home completely in 2023 with all modern amenities while preserving the traditional stone-built fireplace and Finnish sauna. With three beds upstairs and a large sofa bed downstairs, the accommodation is comfortable for various types of groups. The remote working space, fully equipped kitchen and laundry also make it ideal for a longer stay. The space Located right next to the starting point of Saariselkä outdoor trails, the newly renovated apartment features a large living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a large and comfortable sofa-bed, a dining area and a fireplace. Upstairs, you will find two single beds on the loft, and one double bed in a separate bedroom. There is also a desk with a mountain view, making it suitable for remote working. The apartment has its own sauna, washing machine, dryer and parking lot. I will provide you detailed instructions on arriving to Saariselkä and to my apartment, and if needed, guide you through the planning and booking of transportation. I have also prepared a map of recommended spots in the area along with a trail guide to Urho Kekkonen National Park. All shops and restaurants of the village center are within 5-10 minutes' walk away, so rental car won't be needed. In case you need any additional help planning your holiday, don't hesitate to ask! Guest access Guests will have access to the whole apartment including a private sauna and a common courtyard area. Other things to note Please be aware that the master bedroom and loft sleeping area are accessed by a steep staircase and therefore not suitable for people with reduced mobility. There is a 140 cm wide sofa bed downstairs suitable for all guests. Since the apartment consists of multiple sleeping areas and arrangements on multiple floors, the beds are not made by default. Instead, linen sets are placed for the guests to use freely. Please let me know if you would like to have a specific bed made ready for you. Regarding firewood for the fireplace, I am unfortunately not able to provide continuous supply due to the logistically challenging environment at the moment. Therefore, it is not part of my listed amenities of my listing and you can buy it at the local supermarket. I am working towards providing firewood to my all guests in the future.
