Offering a true home away from home, this gun barrel 1910 federation cottage has been lovingly restored and retains all of the charm and original features that this historic area is renowned for. Conveniently located within a quiet street of THE leafy Cooks Hill village, the cultural heart of Newcastle. Walking distance from the CBD, Darby Street, art galleries, light rail, Civic Theatre, harbour and beaches. Suited to families, couples and professionals. The space There's a good reason why our guests tell us our space is a 'home away from home'. We've lived in this home for over five years, and we still stay here for work and any other chance we get. Recently and painstakingly renovated, by us, this two-bedroom free standing cottage has a well-equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry. Stylishly furnished including a range of stunning midcentury pieces which we've collected over the years. High ceilings with ducted reverse cycle air-conditioning and ceiling fans throughout. Equipped with your modern-day comforts including heated towel rack, Bosch washing machine and dryer, dyson stick vacuum, hair dryer and iron. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need if you choose to eat in, rather than visit the nearby restaurants and cafe's. Includes a Breville Barista Expresso (cafe quality coffee beans supplied), Sunbeam kettle and toaster, microwave, gas oven and family size refrigerator. Also includes a variety of quality pots and pans, crockery and other kitchen utensils. Please note there is no dishwasher. We have wireless internet and access to Netflix, prime video, Disney, kayo as well as all the free to air channels. Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed. Bedroom 2 has 2 king singles which can be put together to form a king on request. There is a range of children's toys for the little ones and portable cot and highchair available. Please respect our neighbours at all times, there is strictly a no parties/events policy. Smoking will also not be tolerated anywhere on the property (including the courtyard and verandah). Guest access The whole house and backyard will be yours during your stay. The front door is accessible using the wireless number pad, we'll give you the access code on the day of your stay. Other things to note The property does not have off-street parking however a parking permit is provided for free on street parking. You must ensure that this permit remains at the property after you leave. Strictly no pets, no smokers, no parties. A security camera is installed at the property covering the front porch area. We've gone to great lengths and efforts to restore this charming cottage to its former glory. We also live in this house so please respect it as well our lovely neighbours as you enjoy your stay.
