Hood Canal Beach Retreat
Come relax and enjoy the Hood Canal at our playful beach retreat. We spent the pandemic living in and fixing up this home to serve as a fun, comfortable vacation getaway, and we can't wait to share it with our guests! Three bedrooms, two baths, one "sunroom" (with Aerobed for extra guests), playground for the little ones, over an acre of land and plenty of waterfront! The space Upon entry you'll find an open/high-ceiling sunroom / lounge (with flatscreen tv) / desk space. Also a great room to lay an Aerobed mattress for extra guests. Up a small flight of stairs to the main level, which consists of kitchen, breakfast nook, dining room, living room, bath 1 and bed 1. Dining for 8. Breakfast nook fits 3 comfortably (can squeeze more, especially if of the smaller/child-like stature). Bed 1: Queen bed with beautiful arched canopy frame. We carved out a special nook for our canine guests here as well. Bath 1: Large shower (no tub). Living room: Enjoy the propane fireplace in the cooler months, and stunning views of The Olympic mountain range and the Hood Canal year round. Kitchen: It's small, but mighty. With a large kitchen island for prep/serving space, an oven/range, full fridge/freezer, dishwasher and pantry. Up the stairs (sorry, 1940s home so they're narrow!)... Bed 2: King bed with views over the Canal and toward The Olympics, and comfy rocking chair spot to take it all in. Bed 3: Twin mattress/window seat (a comfortable bed that doubles as a perfect reading nook), as well as bunk bed with twin up top and full mattress below...and a slide to get you from top to bottom. (for the little ones only please) Bath 2: Full bath tub w/ shower and beautiful views. Outside: Upper deck with lounge chairs. Lower deck with extra large sectional and dining for 8, plus bbq. Off the deck you'll find a firepit wrapped by lavender, lilac and honeysuckle -- with beautiful views facing down the Canal. Looking for a shady nap? Pull the hammock under Wally, our beloved Willow tree. Or head to the low-bank beach to play in the sand, let the little ones swim in the small "pool" (pond that forms when the tide goes out), or take the kayaks or paddle boards out for a stroll. Head north a short ride to find the nature reserve! In the front yard, little ones will have extra fun on the playset, or venturing into "the magic wood" on the little trail we built (don't worry, it's safe -- isolated within the trees framed in by the driveway, with no easy way to get lost). Guest access You'll have access to the full property and waterfront/beach. Other things to note Please note that we strongly believe dogs are members of the family, and so we openly welcome them with you. But we ask that, like any member of your family, you don't leave pee or poo accidents behind and you clean up any overt messes. (We also kindly ask to keep pets off the furniture out of respect for our guests who have allergies or sensitivities to fur. If you think this will be a problem, [i.e. your pup is accustomed to sofa lounging] please plan to bring special blankets to place on the furniture for them, and properly towel dry them off after beach play before coming inside.)
