The Caledonian Retreat

The Caledonian Retreat is our southwest facing holiday home, with lovely views across the River Tweed, Cheviot Hills, Hume Castle and the surrounding countryside of The Scottish Borders and North Northumberland. This peaceful hidden gem in the border town of Coldstream has all you need for an enjoyable break and is a centralised location for exploring The Scottish Borders and North Northumberland. Edinburgh and Newcastle are also within easy reach either by car, or train from Berwick-upon-Tweed. The space The Caledonian Retreat is a great place to stay any time of the year. The stunning views of the surrounding countryside make this a perfect place to relax, unwind and forget the troubles of day-to-day life. It has a fully equipped kitchen & dining area, comfortable lounge with relaxing sofa, Smart TV, Sleeping up to 6, there is a master bedroom with double bed and en suite WC, a 2nd twin room with full size single beds and further guests are accommodated on a sofa bed in the lounge, all guests have access to a modern shower room, the full central heating and double glazing makes this a great place to stay no matter what the weather or the time of year. Our Juliette balcony makes a great place to sit and enjoy the surrounding views whilst having a drink, after a busy day exploring what The Scottish Borders has to offer. Sorry we don’t allow pets. Guest access This is a private self-contained unit and only guests have access to the space. Other things to note The Caledonian Retreat is set on a spacious pitch with parking for 2 cars (additional parking is available behind reception); it is within easy reach of services such as 24-hour reception and laundry room within the site. There are plenty of picnic benches around site, free for you to use but please be mindful of other visitors and dispose of any rubbish in the nearby bins. The Caledonian Retreats situation on the park is a stones throw to the access of the delightful riverside walk which takes you into Coldstream town itself with all its plentiful shops, amenities and museums. The Hirsel Country Park is located just down the hill from the Holiday Park and boasts woodland walks, The Homestead Café & Farm Shop, a children’s play park and an eighteen-hole golf course (open to non-members) ** LINEN IS PROVIDED AT NO EXTRA COST ** TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED ** ON SITE LAUNDRY ROOM WITH WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER (chargeable) -Ask for details at reception ** BBQ/FIRE PIT- you are welcome to bring your own, or hire one from reception - Please observe site rules regarding placement, reception staff will be happy to help and advise with this. Single sex couples are more than welcome however we do not accept bookings for single sex parties (2 Adults and above)
