Portside - The Mizzen

Portside - The Mizzen is on a hillside with fabulous waterfront views, overlooking Lochinver harbour and along Loch Inver. Easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes, gift & grocery shops. Recently refurbished, The Mizzen has 2 en-suite bedrooms offering super king or twin beds, well equipped kitchen, all facilities on one level, a private balcony/patio and shared garden area. The space The Mizzen is a cosy home with open plan living space focused on the fabulous waterfront views. Well equipped kitchen with 2 ovens, grill, hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, pans, utensils, crockery, glasses etc. There is an island plus separate dining table and 2 sofas for relaxing, TV, Wi-Fi & usb charging points. Kitchen linen & basic supplies pack provided. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and can have 1 SuperKing bed or 2 singles. Bed linen, shower, hand and floor towels are provided. Bathroom pack also provided - paper, handwash & lotion, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner. Outside there is a private patio/garden area with gas BBQ tables & chairs offering wide views over Lochinver village, harbour and along Loch Inver. Guest access Self checkin with keybox access. 1st day arrival 15.00 onwards from then on come and go as you please. The Mizzen is 25 meters from the car parking area. It’s a single storey home attached to Portside House. It has its own patio/garden with BBQ, table & chairs. In addition to The Mizzen’s private patio space there is a fenced, communal garden area shared with Slipway cabin and The Mizzen. We are re-wilding the gardens at Portside and there are pathways cut to give access around this area and to enjoy the views, natural plants and wildlife. LOCHINVER VILLAGE has :- AMENITIES - food shops, cafes, petrol station, 4 restaurants (varying prices), Lochinver Larder (famous pie shop). WALKING & CYCLING - Access to a variety of routes, covering all abilities, nearest mountains are Suilven and Canisp THE NC500 - goes by the village and there is access to smaller road routes - ideal for smaller cars, cycling & motorbikes with amazing views to take in. BOAT TOURS - often seeing seals, otters, dolphins, sea eagles and occasionally whales - leave daily from Lochinver harbour BEACHES - Achmelvich & Clactoll beaches are a short drive away and there are numerous swimming places in many lochs and lochens nearby. FISHING - fishing tickets to various lochs and rivers can be bought in the village. Other things to note If children are in your group, please note :- The Mizzen’s patio/garden sits up to 3 meters above the garden level below. The area is walled all round and has an additional rope above the wall. For adults this provides an obvious and safe barrier. We’ve had younger children (ages 2-12) staying in The Mizzen with no problems. But, incase your child/children are of an age or nature where climbing the wall could be a really tempting game, we prefer to highlight this as a potential problem for you to consider, before you book. For all visitors :- Portside House will be undergoing various refurbishment projects throughout 2026. This will be mostly internal work, mostly installation and decorating, so there should be minimal (if any) noise disturbance. Registration Details HI-00620-F
