Sand Dune Views and Starry Night Skies

Come and relax after a busy day enjoying the many things to do in the San Luis Valley. Soak in the mountain views that surround you everywhere you look on our deck, and fire pit, enjoying a BBQ meal with your family and friends. Find quick and easy access to the Great Sand Dunes National Park which is less than 5 miles away. Our home has been newly remodeled with the latest updates and comforts of home, including Starlink wifi. Your dog fur babies are also welcome. This is the place for you! The space About the house: From our home you will have a great view of the Sand Dunes and mountains every where you look! The house is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, with the master suite on one end of the house and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the other end of the house. The kitchen and dining room are an open concept, leading into the living room that has a 55" HDTV with electric fireplace. Wi-Fi: We offer Starlink, which is a satellite based wi-fi. Because of our remote location this can be affected by the movement of the satellites or weather and can go offline periodically. It can take several hours to come back online. If you need wi-fi for work, please note it can be intermittent. Master Bedroom: Has a king sized bed, and its own private bathroom with walk-in shower. This room can accommodate a pack and play, which is located in the walk- in closet for your use ( bring your own pack and play sheets /blankets). Bedrooms 2 & 3 : Each have a queen sized bed and their own walk-in closets. Bedroom 2, also has a dedicated work space which includes a desk and small office chair. Bathroom 2: Has a full shower tub combo and usual fixtures. Kitchen: The kitchen is equipped with the items you will need for full meal preparation, cooking and eating. There are some pantry basics such as salt, pepper, basic spices, and oil. Make sure to bring your own food and drinks. The closest Wal-Mart/ City Market is approx. 30 miles away in Alamosa, and don't forget to bring your own shopping bags. There is a full set of pots and pans and skillets, along with a few baking items. For your convenience there is a dishwasher with soap provided. Also, there is a coffee/ tea bar, with a drip coffee maker, french press, and pour over. Medium roast coffee is available, as well as creamer and sugar. Plus, an instant hot water pot for tea and hot chocolate. For your entertainment: There is a 55" HDTV in the living which is Roku/ smart TV. Streaming services not provided but you can log into your own account but note that Starlink outage will affect this. There are also games and puzzles located in the living room. For outside games there is a cornhole board located in the laundry room area. Laundry facilities: We offer a washer and dryer for your use while you stay with us. Also located in the laundry room area we have a highchair for your use. Deck with Propane Grill: You are welcome to use the grill, please clean up and cover grill back up when you are done. Grill tools and cleaner are located in the tall cupboard in the laundry room area. Fire Pit: Sit and enjoy the sunset and evening around our outdoor propane fire pit, comfortable chairs make sitting and visiting a must! Pets/ Furry Friends: Up to two dogs are welcome, we do require a pet fee as noted when you book. We ask that you help us keep our furniture looking its best by not allowing your pet on the furniture without covering it. We have provided colored sheets and towels for you to use for your pet. They can be found along with a pet bowl in the tall cupboard in the laundry room area on the bottom shelf. Also, there are coyotes in the area, and we wouldn't want your pet hurt so please do not leave your pet unattended in the yard, and please pick up after your pet. DO NOT leave your pet unattended in the house, when you leave take them with you. Pets are allowed at the National park in most areas. Heating/ Cooling: Since we are located at approximately 8,000 ft, we do not have central air conditioning, but there is a window unit for the warmer days, unit is removed in the fall and winter month. We have provided ceiling fans in all rooms and room darkening shades, and portable fans in all bedrooms. We have found that is you close the blinds in the morning or afternoon to block out the sun and then open up the windows in the evening things will stay cool. The nights are cool and will cool the house off nicely. We have central heat for the colder months. Check in/ out: Check in time is 4:00pm and check out is at 10:00am. We know this is your vacation and we do not have a long list of check out chores. Please turn off all lights and make sure all windows and doors are closed, in the winter months turn heater thermostat to 60 degrees, and we will do the rest! Please contact us if you are requesting early check in or late check out. We will try to accommodate Trip Insurance: We recommend that you purchase trip insurance for the unexpected things that can happen at the last minute. Guest access Entire house and outdoor space Other things to note Please note wi-fi is Starlink which is satellite based and can be intermittent due to our remote location and limitation of the satellite-based system, or if there is a power outage. It can take several minutes to several hours for Starlink to come back on line.
