This perfect 1 bedroom getaway is ideal for a weekend retreat or for a week-month long stay to explore all the High Country has to offer. Polly's Place is a 500 sq ft basement apartment that is part of a long time home that has been in our family for generations, and as such it holds sentimental value to us. We do allow pets, but remember this is a basement apartment, so we prefer well-behaved pets that will not have a problem with a potential pet upstairs. The space was renovated and converted into a basement rental apartment space. Members of our family have stayed here and it functions very well as comfortable space, considerably better than one would find at an upscale hotel in Boone. It is located in our sleepy neighborhood and the back deck is fairly private. It is a nice place to sit an enjoy a glass of wine in the summer. Grandfather Mountain is visible through the trees in the winter. The upgrades to the apartment also provide a customized experience. There are built-in nooks in the kitchen/living room that provide additional storage space and store a washer/dryer available for your use. The master bedroom includes a built-in vanity good for toiletries or provides space for getting ready before a night out. Finally, step out onto the generous decking that spans the length of the apartment. The basement apartment is the lower driveway when you pull onto the property. Down the patio steps, it has a private deck and two entrances. The apartment has private access and a flat driveway. The accessibility is good in the winter because the road is paved/plowed up until the driveway. Message us with any questions. Our sleepy neighborhood is a nice place to be away from the hustle and bustle of town, but still be accessible to Boone & Banner Elk in a 10-15 minute drive, Blowing Rock in 20-25 minutes time. The road is plowed in the winter up until the driveway to this home, so it can be accessible to all vehicles. The road is paved up until the driveway.
