Perfect for families or groups of up to 4 people. Set on 8 acres of tree studded hillside with stunning mountain views. A log burner fire keeps you warm on cold evenings. One queen bed and a set of single bunks, all made up with complete linen including towels. Solar power only so no charging outlets in cabin and basic lighting. Fully equipped kitchen (pots, pans, cutlery) with two -hob gas burner for cooking & cold running water only. NOTE: Shared Bathroom Facilities a short walk away. The space This cabin sleeps 4 so a great budget option for small groups or families. One of 5 cabins, nestled amongst native trees keeps your space private. Being on a hill, access to the cabins is a walk from the carpark ranging from 30-50 meters up a rough gravel track. The cabin has a two hob gas burner for all cooking with pots, pans and plates, cutlery supplied as well as oil and dish was supplies. To keep prices low we ask that you supply your own salt/pepper, tea and coffee. Our bathroom facilities are communal and shared with other cabin guests. They have modern flush toilets and hot showers with excellent pressure! Less than 1 min walk up and down the gravel track that requires torch light at night along the paths. While there is no Wi-Fi , fridge or charging outlets in the cabin our bathroom and laundry area does provide a space for this with a large fridge for all cabin guests and in over 25 years in operation NOTHING has ever been stolen from Freestone so rest assured this is a safe space to trust in your fellow guests while charing items! We have two private outdoor hot baths for an amazing soak under the stars or watch the sun set over the mountains with a glass of wine or sunrise with a cup of tea- perfection! $30 for one bath or $50 for two side by side. Baths require bookings and cash payment. This is a classic rural kiwi experience which allows you to unplug and get back to basics without sacrificing comfort. Set on the incredible doorstep of Fiordland national park its the perfect base for all your Fiordland adventures- just 5 min drive to Doubtful Sound, 15 min drive to the start of the Kepler track and 20 min to Te Anau -the gateway to Milford Sound.
