Stone Barn Nestled in Nature - Dog Friendly
Description
Relax and explore with a stay in our beautifully converted stone barn nestled in nature by the Cornish coast. Guests are invited to explore our 4 acre grounds (including meadows, wild gardens, orchards and woodland), and with a leather goods studio on site, the village pub and pottery just 200 metres away, and beaches, surfing spots and endless nature walks on the doorstep, there is much on offer to make your stay special. We are dog and family friendly and cannot wait to welcome you! The space The beautifully finished self-contained barn conversion is attached to the main house and forms part of the original historic farmstead courtyard. We have two double bedrooms (one kingsize and another kingsize that can be converted into twin), a bathroom (with rainfall shower and bath), a fully kitted out kitchen and open plan dining and lounge area all beautifully styled for a luxurious and peaceful get away. We have just installed a log burner so you can get cosy with a warm blanket and a book! The dedicated garden space has outdoor dining and bbq facilities with outdoor sofas and deckchairs that have views over the orchard and wooded valley. You will have your own parking space (for up to 2 cars) and a private front door entrance. Whether you are looking for stunning gardens, coastal walks, great surf or a restorative get-away, cosied up playing games and watching movies by the fire, this is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Guest access As well as having your own enclosed private garden space, we invite you to enjoy our 4 acres of grounds with a stunning floral wildlife garden, organic allotments, a wild orchard, meadows in Spring, and a ferny dappled woodland walk and stream. We are environmentally minded and the gardens and grounds are teaming with butterflies, birds and wildlife. Children can roam freely and explore anywhere in the grounds, with a climbing frame and swing set and an open play area on the grassed terrace with a selection of outdoor games. There is a fire pit that you are welcome to use for cooking on fire, toasting marshmallows or cosying up with an evening drink overlooking the valley. If you have accessibility issues then some of the wider grounds will be hard to reach as we are nestled in a valley. Please also note our own family (including two young children) will often be out exploring and playing - although they are very respectful there may be some voices heard at times. Other things to note We are blessed with a lovely village pub (the Old Smithy Inn) and fantastic village pottery just a two minute stroll away. Well Barn is situated in an AONB and the North Devon Biosphere with the breathe-taking beauty of Welcombe Mouth beach, Marsland Valley and the South West Coast Path just a 5 minute drive / 20 minute walk. The bustling seaside town of Bude is a 20 minute drive away along with a host of stunning beaches including Duckpool, Sandymouth, Northcott, Crooklets, Summerleaze and also the rugged beauty of Hartland Quay to the north is also within 20 minutes. Kilkampton with a COOP, SPAR and butchers is a 12 min drive and can cater for all your day to day needs. Becky is a leatherworker with a studio in the grounds which is regularly open as a shop and workshops are available to book (in advance) for those who would like to have a go and learn a new skill. Tommy will happily chat to you about the local surf spots, cider making, growing veggies or anything else that peaks your interest while you are here.
