Enjoy a unique experience at this centrally-located guest suite in historic Covington. Located in a beautifully decorated circa 1910, New Orleans style home. Just a half mile walk or drive to all the shops and restaurants in downtown Covington and only 2 miles from Oxford College. While this home has not been used for filming, all of the surrounding properties have,and this home is usually mentioned on local tours due to its unique design & eccentric holiday decor that is displayed year round. This is a two story home. The guest suite is located on part of the main level and has a separate entrance from the rest of the house. You will enter into the guest bedroom, and the back portion of the guest suite is the living room, dining, and kitchen area. The bathroom is located off the kitchen. This is an older home, so the bathroom is smaller, a cute little 5.5 x 5.5ft square. Some additional shelving is provided in the bathroom to act as additional counter space. There is also a large mirror in the bedroom to provide an additional space for guests to get ready. The guest suite is attached to the main house but has its own entrance and is separate otherwise, there are no shared spaces with the homeowners. You may see us coming and going occasionally and some day to day noise is possible, but your stay should be quiet and peaceful. The guest area is located on the left side of the main level of the house. It has a single door entrance that is set back on the porch. There is a keypad, so it is easy to come and go. The double doors are the main entrance to the home, which is not accessible to guests. The guest suite, front porch, front walkway, and front driveway are accessible to guests. The fenced backyard is not accessible to guests. We are available if needed throughout your stay. If you need anything, big or small, please let us know. Otherwise, we will send you the needed information prior to your stay and let you enjoy your time in Covington. Located in historic Covington, there is a park across the street(that was the backdrop for quite a few Vampire Dairies scenes, if you're sight seeing). Quiet neighborhood, within walking distance to many filming locations and local businesses. Guest parking is located on the front driveway. Please be mindful of the historic iron fence post located on both sides of the driveway when entering and leaving. The guest suite is within walking distance of downtown Covington. There is a golf cart rental located just off the square as well. We go all out on decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. This is for everyone to enjoy. We love being able to share our home with others and have them enjoy the experience as well. We have a pirate theme that stays up all year, so there are plastic skeletons and props on the front porch and in part of the yard. You are more than welcome to take pictures. Please do not touch or move the props. No animatronics are part of the year-round display. If some are out around Halloween or Christmas, we will let guests know in advance what times the displays will be on. Covington, "Hollywood of the South" is home to Vampire Diaries, Sweet Magnolias, In the Heat of the Night, Dukes of Hazzard and much more. If your stay is for 2 or more people please let us know in advance if you would like to use the sofa bed during your stay as additional linens are not available in the guest suite for this bed unless needed.
