Description
Take it easy at this tranquil getaway. Ten minutes from Lunenburg but it could be 100 years. Coast through Garden Lots, where the ‘Foreign Protestants’ grew their vegetables, cross The Commons, land given by Queen Victoria and still held in common, over the bridge and you’re on Heckman’s Island. Follow the road until it turns to gravel, up the hill and we’re the red roof on the left. Ascend the steps to The Loft, pour yourself a drink and watch the sunset. The space A second floor apartment over a carpenter’s workshop, kitchen, bathroom and dining/bedroom, comfortable size for two. Room for parking, stroll in the garden if you wish (but please clean up after your dog - thank you!). Quiet roads on the island where you can walk your dog. Fast Internet, DVD player but no TV. Guest access Park on the left as you come in. There are steps up to the apartment so it is not a suitable place for anyone who finds stairs uncomfortable. Also not suitable for young children. Other things to note The road off Blue Rocks Road to the island, Heckman’s Island Road, can be a bit bumpy so please take care. Also there can be wildlife crossing the road through the Common Land - Deer, raccoons, porcupines, birds, owls so please go slower, particularly at dawn or dusk when they like to hunt. Thank you.
