Cozy Cottage in Travelers Rest
Cozy Cottage in Travelers Rest
Description
Keep it simple at this 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage centrally located between the mountains and the city. Fully equipped kitchen, king bed and twin beds, laundry, fireplaces, fast Wifi, Roku TVs, and a view of a meadow and Paris Mountain from the back deck. Drive or ride your bike north on Hwy 276 and you'll be in the mountains. Head south on the Swamp Rabbit Trail and you can ride through Travelers Rest all the way to downtown Greenville! The space This newly remodeled house is divided into two units. Unit A, on street level, is about 1100 sq. ft, with an open living room/kitchen area and 10 foot ceilings. The original brick hearth is open to both the living room and main bedroom, and we've installed remote-controlled electric fireplaces in both rooms. The fireplaces make it cozy, but they can also function as heaters if needed (we do have central heat as well). There are no steps inside the home, but there are a few steps up onto the porch. There are pull down blinds on each window for privacy, but they allow light in during the day. There are also room-darkening curtains in each bedroom. The kitchen has an island with built-in sink and dishwasher. The island also serves as the main eating area. There is room in the pantry and refrigerator for snacks and groceries. Unit B is a cozy studio apartment that is only accessible from the backyard. It is suitable for one or two people. It has a queen bed, built-in desk, full bath with shelving and a small washer/dryer unit, and a kitchenette. There is a gravel path with a few steps on a gentle incline, on the left side of the house, that leads around to the back door entrance. The spaces are not accessible to each other from inside the house. When that unit is occupied, please reserve the parking space on the far left of the gravel driveway for those guests. Currently there is one tenant living in the apartment. If you turn right from the house and walk to Hwy 276 and cross the road, you will be on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. You can walk or bike to Gateway Park, Sunrift Outfitters (bike and kayak rentals, outdoor gear, etc), Tandem Creperie, and all of downtown TR. It's about 1 1/2 miles. Guest access Guests are able to access all parts of the space except for a locked linen closet. The washer and dryer have their own space in the back of the house, and we've also provided some wall hooks to hang bikes, both in the laundry room and on the side of the small back deck. Other things to note You can walk to the Swamp Rabbit Trail from the house. Downtown Travelers Rest (or TR, as locals call it) is 1.6 miles away. You can walk to Tandem for crepes or to Monkey Wrench Smokehouse for BBQ, or to Sidewall Pizza for amazing creative pizzas that you will crave! There are quite of few fun places to eat and drink in TR. Be sure to check out my town guide!
