Other things to note This is a rustic cabin on 1.5 acres under 5 miles south of Breckenridge off Highway 9. The cabin gets ALOT of snow in the winter. We do have a snow shoveling and driveway plowing service that comes after 6 inches of snow but we still require guests to have a 4WD vehicle or an AWD vehicle with excellent tires October - June. Being that you will be traveling in an area where adverse winter driving conditions are almost a certainty, we highly recommend you carry AAA or have the road side assistance insurance for your rental car. We are unable to assist guests that get their vehicles stuck. We also recommend that you are versed on and abide by the Colorado Department of Transportation’s traction laws for your time in Colorado. That information can be found on their website. We do send a shoveling team after a big storms and have supplied snow shovels for the guests to use during smaller storms and when the snow drifts in on the wind. You need to be able to shovel snow and walk in deep snow as a foot of snow isn’t uncommon even in a few hours. Please keep the shovels inside so they don’t get buried in the snow overnight or “borrowed” by the snow shoveling team. One pet is allowed with the approval of the homeowner/ host and $20 per night pet fee . Dog owners should be aware that although The Cabin is set well off Colorado 9, there is a traffic concern if their pup is a runner or wondered. Guest must clean up their dog’s waste and will be solely responsible for any damage resulting from their pet.
