Located just off the walk streets it is walkable to everything and won't require you to rent a car. Venice beach is famed for it's diverse community of progressive minded people. The streets are full of eclectic architecture. Great stores, restaurants and galleries are a two minute walk out the door on Abbot Kinney Blvd, called the coolest street in America by GQ Magazine har har... Just 6 blocks to the beach. Easy access to freeways and all of Los Angeles. You don't need to rent a car if you don't want to here. Most everything you need is walkable.
