Quiet Retreat

The area is great for a varied little France vacation. Located in a quiet rural area north of the Champagne region, about a 2-hour drive from Brussels. Nearby are hiking and cycling routes, and there is a tourist route along "églises fortifiées"; churches with a special history. The towns of Laôn, Soissons, St Quentin are worth a visit and about 30-45 minutes drive. The space Because we are not always present ourselves, we are happy to share this house with guests. Welcome to enjoy this quiet place in the middle of the French countryside. Where you can (really!) hear a couple snoring – that's how quiet it is! The living/dining room is equipped with comfortable chairs and two sofas, with a pleasant wood-burning stove. We like to light it for you in the winter! With a spacious table to eat at, but it is also a nice place to work. The garden around the house is slowly but surely being transformed into a permaculture garden and food forest, focused on edible plants. For those who love to cook, the kitchen is really ideal. And no, unfortunately, there is no dishwasher. The bedrooms are simple, but the beds are comfortable. Guest access The living/dining room is a nice space to stay. On sunny, warm days you can also sit on the adjacent balcony. Or you can grab a couple of garden chairs in the basement and find a spot in the garden to enjoy the outdoors. We make the beds for you and put towels out for you. In the kitchen, in addition to the necessary tools, dishes, pans, etc., the basics of oil, vinegar and herbs are also present. And you can choose to eat in the kitchen. Especially in winter, that's nice because it's quickly warm there. During your stay We are not present during your stay, but good friends of ours will be happy to welcome you and show you around. And you can also go to them for questions.
