Step out of the door and you're on Cawsand beach. This was our family home - a top-floor apartment for 8 with sea views from the sofa, the dining table and the bed, where dogs are as welcome as their humans. The space THE SPACE: The Bay is a luxury Cawsand beach apartment sitting directly on the sand, on Cornwall's Rame Peninsula. Morning coffee happens watching the fishing boats head out; evenings end with the sky turning pink over the bay while dinner cooks on the Miele hob. The whole apartment is arranged to keep the sea in view. We lived here with our two children and our dog before it became a holiday let, so we know this place as a home, not a rental - which mornings the sun hits the balcony, where sandy feet get rinsed, which table at the pub to ask for. Everything guests need is here because we needed it first. Apple TV, blackout blinds, and an ensuite with walk-in rainfall shower Second bedroom: Italian Smart Living king bed that tucks away by day if needed, creating space for a desk for two (the TV doubles as a second screen) or a morning yoga spot. Family bathroom with bath and overhead shower OUTSIDE: Balcony at the back - the sundowner spot as the sky turns pink Outside shower for sandy feet and wetsuits, plus a pull-out airer for swim gear Outside dog wash tap and hose THE LOCATION: Cawsand and its twin village Kingsand are the kind of places people return to every year - pubs, cafés and the beach all on the doorstep, with rock pools to explore at low tide. Walk the South West Coast Path through Mount Edgcumbe's parkland, catch the seasonal ferry from the beach across to Plymouth, or head to Whitsand Bay and Tregantle for surf and long stretches of sand. It's Cornwall without the crowds. FOR FAMILIES: Our own two children grew up on this beach, so the family details are already thought of - the third bedroom's configurable singles, bunks and cabin beds, a cot and highchair, a 75-inch TV with apps for rainy afternoons, and rock pools at low tide right outside. The beach is sheltered and shallow-shelving - ideal for small swimmers. FOR COUPLES: Out of season, The Bay makes a quietly indulgent bolthole for two - the super king under the vaulted ceiling, the wine fridge, coastal walks from the door and the pub for lunch. The spare bedrooms simply stay tucked away. You'll find us as 5 The Bay, a Cawsand beach apartment we've hosted guests in since it stopped being our home - returning guests are the best part of it. GUEST ACCESS: The entire apartment is yours, along with one allocated space in the private underground car park. Arrival is keys via a key box, and your digital guidebook (TouchStay) has everything from the WiFi code to our favourite table at the pub. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: We're on the second (top) floor, reached by lift or stairs - the lift runs from the garage and ground floor straight up, and once you're in, the apartment is all on one level with wide hallways and a walk-in shower in the master ensuite. If anyone in your group has mobility needs, do message us - we're happy to talk through the details so you can book with confidence. The underground car park has a 2.1m height clearance. If you're travelling with a roof box on a larger vehicle you may need to remove it before entering- there's a rack in the parking space to store it. We'll send simple arrival directions via the coast road. Dogs are genuinely welcome here - this was our dog's home too, which is why the details are right: a wash tap and hose outside, a dog gate in the hallway, and our Canine Code of Conduct shared before you arrive.
