The space Sweet potato Welcome to our spud-tacular veggie villa, THE SWEET POTATO THEATRE! 🌱 🌷 🐝 🐣 Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, our cozy urban farm will have you feeling right at home. You'll be greeted by the buzzing of bees, meowing of cats & the sweet aroma of ripening fruits & veggies. To set a proper expectation, be aware farming is ongoing. We often have projects on the property. We are currently excavating our basement and have a path going around this. We are open during this and work is limited to during normal work hours of 9-5. 🥕KEY FEATURES:🥕 🍠 Single bedroom inside a giant sweet potato (airstream) w/ an option for a second bed that pops out from a table + firepit + smartTV 🚽 Access to 2 shared bathrooms in the main home, complete with handmade soap 🍳 Shared living room in the main home + kitchen for slicing tomaters & a refrigerator for storing your corn cob 🌻 Private backyard area in the middle of the sweet potato vegetable patch. ⏱️ Minutes from Downtown, where you can get your city fix, but hurry back to the peaceful country life at our veggie villa, & pop in a flick from yester-year 💻 Fast WiFi + laptop-friendly workspaces with a desk made for up to 4 🚗 Plenty of free street parking, but who needs a car when you can ride a cucumber! The bedroom has natural corkfloors, several large windows allowing plenty of natural light. All surrounded by the cozy urban farm with bees buzzing, and flowers ripening to fruit. ☆☆ BATHROOM ☆☆ This room has access to 2 shared bathrooms, complete with handmade soap. Please remove your shoes and tread lightly during quiet hours of 10pm to 10 am so as not to startle the hens! ☆☆ KITCHEN & LOUNGE ☆☆ You will share the kitchen and lounge with other travelers. The fully-equipped kitchen has a fridge for storing your corn cob, sink, dishwasher, and open shelves stocked with plates, cups, and kitchen gadgets. Use the coffee maker to brew coffee in the mornings and the microwave to heat leftovers from the cafe down the street. The open-concept layout of this kitchen makes it easy for multiple guests to move in and out of the space. High-top seating at the breakfast bar creates a comfortable place to enjoy a quick breakfast or get some work done. The shared living space features leafy houseplants, quirky home accents, eclectic light fixtures, and a unique mix of vintage pieces and modern design. Work, study, or eat at the farmhouse-style table while mingling with other travelers. Lounge in one of the comfortable armchairs and read or take a cat nap in the sun. ☆☆ OUTDOOR SPACE ☆☆ Local Notices Elm Seed Beetles We have removed all elm and other host trees from our property to minimize these insects, but we are surrounded by Siberian elm trees in the neighborhood. During midsummer, you may see an occasional elm seed beetle indoors. They are harmless, and we typically just vacuum them up. Please let us know if you see any, and we will take care of it promptly. Construction We are completing renovations to improve the property. Some work may occur between 8 AM–7 PM, including weekends, but it is not constant. Children Children are welcome, but for safety, they must remain under parental or guardian supervision at all times. No Illicit Drugs Illicit drug use—especially methamphetamine—is strictly prohibited. We conduct enforceable testing, and violations will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Bringing drugs into someone’s home is unacceptable, destructive, and deeply disrespectful. Allergies & Pets Please note we occasionally approve pets as guests on the property or with tenants if they follow the rules. Also we are a 130 year old home. Host not responsible for allergies. Guest access As a guest here, you have access to your specific unit, the Sweet Potato Theatre which is an airstream. You will be provided a key to access the airstream via the check in details. There is plenty of free street parking right outside of the home. You will share the living room, patio, and kitchen with other travelers, two shared bathroom,s are located inside the main home. There is a washer and dryer in the main home available for a laundry fee and high-speed WiFi. We are near local grocery stores, great restaurants, coffee shops, gas stations & the bustling Downtown area. Other things to note We have exterior cameras at each exterior door. 1. Front door 2. Back door 3. Private deck door. Cameras record & recordings deleted after 5 days. All exterior terrain is diverse so be aware there are potential tripping hazards. Nonetheless it should be fine to pass for the average walker. We are a farm and we are doing many improvements to the property. Be aware. Please note that The Parlor, is a separate listing and is not part of your reservation. It is closed for remodeling It is a shared space in a 120 year old home. The furniture is not new and does have patina. There is potential for smells. There is potential for noise. As mentioned previously, expect to see other guests. It is a self check-in process and you agree to the house rules by reserving here. Any theft will be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law.
